  1. I see. Thanks for the tips. I am thinking of thickening the edges of the wings by adding strips so there will be a large glueing surfaces. The edges are designed thin to facilitate the wing folding movement. Regards, Douglas
  2. Hello guys, I dry fit the folding wings tonight and I concluded that the joint is not going to hold the wings. I think I better build it with wings unfolded and fixed. How did you guys fixed them ? I am thinking of a secure way and I think your experience should be helpful. Regards, Douglas

  5. Hi guys, I have a box of Trumpeter 1/32 TBF-1C for quite a long time. I suddenly feel the hot to start working on it. However, I am a bit puzzled by the name TBF and TBM. All I know is that TBF was manufactured by Grumman and that TBM was manufactured by General Motor. In the outer appearance, would there be any noticeable differences ? Regards, Douglas
  6. I tried removing the kit parts and fitting the Aires cockpit. I used a grinder to sand thin the fuselage and also the Aires cockpit side panels. I finally put the cockpit into the fuselage but, I think I removed too much the plastic. I guess there is no need to sand the kit cockpit edges to very thin. An amount of 1.5mm would be enough. The key is possibly to sand thin the Aires cockpit side panels. I have here some photos. The result Progress Photos Regards, Douglas
  7. Ah ya, that is deep XXXX. Thanks Curt and David. Let's see how we work it out. Keep in touch. I will post my photo of progress. Looks better to buy another kit as back up. Wish me luck. Regards, Douglas

  23. Hi guys, I just bought the Academy 1/32 Sufa. Checking the sprues there are many "leftover" of the CJ kit. Then, I am thinking, it might be possible to make easily a Polish DJ instead of a Sufa. Did you guys explore the possibility ? It looks the "difficult to make" parts are all there, say, the spine instrument housing, the parachute housing, the CFT, are all there. What do you guys and experts think ? Regards, Douglas
  24. I see what you meant. Let me think about it. Thanks for all your information and advice. Regards, Douglas
