  1. Hi again everyone! I took everyone's opinion to heart from a previous post regarding the type of compressor to get. Instead of my original choices of getting the puny diaphragm models, I've decided to get one from a hardware store that also comes with an air tank, and is a fraction of the cost. But now I stuck between two. A Husky quiet air, oil-less compressor with 3 gallon tank: $79.99 Or a delta shopmaster, oil-less compressor with 2 gallon tank: $99.99 Both seem great but don't know why the husky is cheaper. Also, with these models, do I need anything else besides a water filter, an
  2. Thanks! I'll definately try it out.
  3. So for the sake of model building and simulating weathering, and a general worn-out appearance, would it be wise to paint it gloss white and apply a wash to it?
  4. I have always been confused. Are the landing gears, bay, and bomb bay usually painted in gloss or flat white? And does it differ from airplane to airplane?
  5. Thanks Istvan! I will definately get the 2 in one.
  6. It looks like my decision became just a little bit harder. www.obeeliks.com just came out with two new versions of the evolution. Which one should I get now?
  7. BTW, which evolution should I get as my first airbrush, because http://www.obeeliks.com/index.html?lang=en-gb has 3 different variations of the evolution.
  8. Thanks again everyone! <_< I will now be able to make a more informed decision based on your comments. I will most probably get a compact compressor/air tank combo. As far as airbrushes are concerned, I will definately check out the H&S evolution.
  9. Sorry, I meant to say I can't tell the difference, in my reply.
  10. Thanks for the advice everyone! Keeper: What are the advantages of having an air tank on ur compressor, and how can you tell that the compressor has an air tank? Since I'm new to this, all compressors look and seem the same to me and I can tell the difference. Also some people mentioned that I should buy one from home depot and lowes as they do cost cheaper and can be considerably more powerful. But the question is, do I need all that power and psi? I just want a compressor thats sturdy, reliable, relatively quite, compact, and can handle all of my modeling, as well as occasional artist
  11. Thanks Smithery. So should I get a single action gravity feed or bottom feed airbrush?
  12. Hi all! I'm new to these forums but have learned quite a bit of valuable information from this website already. I have been making models for six years but have somehow avoided using an airbrush through all these years, wiht the help of testors spray cans. I have now decided to make the jump and start learning how to use one. I have been looking at a few compressors and now I want your opinions: http://www.bearair.com/prodinfo.asp?number=120118 http://www.bearair.com/prodinfo.asp?number=120315 -or- the Paasche d3000 http://www.dixieart.com/Paasche_Comp
