  1. Thanks for the information guys. Knew you'd lend a hand. Also been looking at the GB on Britmodeller. Kit is at the post office waiting for me to collect, so will have my hands on it soon - although I'll not be able to make a start this weekend. I need to order some paint. Don' have the luxury of an airbrush. What do you think about spray can for the main camouflage colours, being as there is quite an expanse of it?
  2. So I guess Vulcan fever is rife right now, what with 558 making it back into the air. This then has been my prompt to want to built a Vulcan kit, so I have duly purchased the Airfix 1:72 kit, an example of the second generation one I sourced on flea-bay. My question is then, what colours should I be using for the overall camouflage scheme? I am far from an experienced modeller and willingly admit I have a lot to learn. I have also read that this kit does leave a bit to be desired, but hey, for someone of my skill level (or not) it'll do me fine. I'm currently unsure whether to build good ol

Is the airbrush the only critical buying decision, or does the compressor require as much careful consideration too? Pe
  4. Thanks for the responses so far folks. Think I will make a drop a few hints regarding the airbrush to the Mrs. Christmas is not far away after all! I'll certainly let you know which I choose to begin with and will make the effort to post piccies too.
  5. I'm keen to get back into modelling, after a gap of more years than I care to remember. I know I have a lot to learn and must not expect too much from my first few kits, so I'll be spending some time on the ARC forums getting as much info/advice as I can. I've aquired a handful of kits, all from eBay at reasonable prices, but just wondered if you chaps had any thoughts on which would be a good one to start off with? I'm planning on building only military jets at 1:48 scale and will probably be hand painting, until I can afford an airbrush set-up. Sat on my shelf so far are: 1:48 Hasegawa F-
