  1. Yea, Ryan, t'was a nasty kit to build. Have you built the more expensive KP ones? Worth the outlay?
  2. This is my second Mig19/J6. Its from Plastyk. There's a reason why its under USD 10. Cheap and rather nasty. Requires much more filling and sanding as compared to my earlier Smer J6. Still, I'm rather satisfied with the outcome. Overall shade was Mr Hobby MC 218 Aluminium. I used a 4B pencil for that different tone of silver. Works better after putting on a matt finish, o find. Markings were from leftover Smer J6 decals. The Plastyk ones looked a tad thick and "sticker-esque" (see last photo).

  4. This is the HobbyBoss A-7P Corsair II in its farewell commemorative colours. A decent kit with nice decals. Not a rivet counter so not exceptionally concerned with known inaccuracies from this kit. Colour codes are apparently same as those for USAF SEA camo. I used Mr Hobby acrylics.
  5. So this is the Smer 1/72 Shanyang J6. Basic kit, with decent panel details albeit raised. Also plenty of flash and not much in cockpit details. Anyway, this was a quick build done in 3 days ( 2 if I had not done some "rhinoplasty" to fix the sunken nose on the left and right sides of the nose cone due to excessive glue). Overall a fun built. In fact, so fun that i decided to order another one from Plastyk - this time a Mig-19.
  6. Thanks, Ryan. Old kit but rather fun build.
  7. Hi All, Maiden post. This is an OOB build of the Smeer 1/72 Su-7 BKL in Egyptian colours. Raised panel lines not too much of an issue at this scale. Initially sanded part of it with 1500 sandpaper. Thought better of it and switched to shading the lines with a 2B pencil and slightly going over them with a flat brush. I think the pencil works better
