Thanks A lot
it is very informative, although still a bit confusing, since the color profiles in the second link do not match (as far as I understand) to the text in the first link…
any way, thanks for sharingÂ

Hello
according to Eduard instructions, Pierre Clostermann Tempests JF-E were marked as follow :
Â
NV 724 - black Spinner, Lorraine cross on the right side.
NV 994 - Red spinner, no Lorraine cross, “Le Grand Charles” writing on the right side.
Â
is this correct?
Thanks

Bottom line is the HB kit has issues, so does the Academy. If you are a purist and can't get over them then don't build an F-111 now and wait for a new kit. Otherwise close your mind to these problems and have some fun building an Aardvark that will look good sitting on your shelf. I built the FB-111 version and replaced the canopy. Maybe someday someone will do a better job on a plane that deserves better treatment. Until then Academy and Hobby Boss are where it's at. I think it will be a long time before some company tries again, and who knows if it will be any better.

There are people around here who are really passionate about certain aircraft and nothing but perfection will satisfy them when it comes to that aircraft in model form. That is not a criticism, just an observation. Pick a person you care about, or think is or was a really great person. Go read about them on the wikipedia or some such site. You will find all sorts of reasons they were not so great. Do you change your opinion? Maybe. It is the same thing on this forum. There aren't any models that will escape criticism from someone on this site. Does that mean we shouldn't build any models? You just need to pick the level of perfection that will satisfy you. My $.02.

Hi
from What I’ve read, in 1/48 scale, the best F-111E kit is the HobbyBoss ( although it have some inaccuracies)?
is it correct or should I go for another manufacturer?

Hello all!
Â
I'm building Trumpeter's 1/48 F-100F, but have noticed three glaring errors in the cockpit that need fixing:
1) No throttles included
2) Front seat should have a split headrest and associated mechanism, but the kit only provides two rear seats
3) The canopy reinforcement spar is totally missing. Strangely, they molded the space for the spar to fit between the front seat and the rear console, but never made the actual spar.
Â
Does anyone know if there are aftermarket correction sets for these issues? I found seats by Black Box, but they seem significantly undersized.
Â
Really hoping to avoid scratchbuilding all this...
Â
Thanks in advance!
Hi
the 48ers on-line shop have the seats available:

by the way, forgot to mention, but I've used black base. helped with matching the blue (I think...)

Yes, I’ve used this decals.
they are good, but as I suggested, the white clouds needs another layer of whit background.
if you want, I can email you photos of my kit ( I’m having troubles to attach photos to the post).

Hello
I’ve build this kit and used Revell 50 color over a black base.
I think it turned out quite nice.
another tip is to use another layer of white clouds (using white decals paper) beneath the actual clouds decals.Â
Otherwise the transparency will effect , and the clouds wont Be so white...yossi
