AnthonyWan
I'd like to do a 1/48 Russian subject (IL-2, etc) If IL-2, I'll probably use the Eduard kit, plus CMK accessories (as another builder is doing). However, I'd like a suggestion on a particular subject, such as possibly the aircraft of an ace, etc stuff like that. A way to get the markings needed and possibly some ref pics of the particular aircraft would also be helpful. TIA
jrallman
I was just talking about the montex masks that were used on a Dora in the DotR, and they have masks for an Il-2 also. Pretty cool markings, though they may be for the AM kit instead of the Eduard kit, I am not sure. there is also this sheet still available from Aeromaster that has a few options, some of the pilots were HOS too. AnthonyWan
That first scheme on the montex set looks interesting. Where do I go about finding these masks? :P

B) Design and Marketing International carry them. I just picked up a few sets. Look under super masks in 1/48 and you'll find the Il-2 masks.
David Walker
Montex masks are just fantastic. Having just used a set in the DotR group build I was amazed at the quality and how easy they were to use.
