booker
Help needed: I got a Grand Phoenix Lightning Mk. 6 kit as a Christmas present, which is great, but I have a problem on the painting instructions. The Grand Phoenix build illustrations use letter codes to indicate paint colors to use, for example "Harness Color = Q" or "If not recommended any color use D". Unfortunately, there is nothing in the box to explain what colors the letter codes mean... I can guess most of them, but if anybody has a list of the correct color codes as supplied by Grand Phoenix, or alternatively a set of paint instructions from the original Airfix kit, I would be very grateful for help. sealeopard
The pictures here: http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/lightning/index.html will tell you all you need to know, and more. The seat belts, for example, were either medium blue or golden yellow. It's then just a question of finding the closest colours in your preferred range. StarTux
There should have been a separate piece of paper listing all the color codes as well as detailing the contents. Here are the codes from that piece of paper: A: Matt Black B: Aluminium C: Red D: Semi-gloss black E: Cockpit Green F: Yellow G: Gun Metal H: Desert Yellow I: Brown J: Clear Red K: Clear Green L: White M: Medium Sea Grey N: Chrome Silver O: Gold P: Army Green Q: Medium Grey R: Silver S: Gun Metal+Antik Bronze 3:1 Hope that helps, but don't forget to use the aforementioned thunder and lightnings site too . booker
Great, thanks: this site will be very useful. I usually only build stuff that is older than me, so this is a new adventure!
