f mercik
Hello this may be a very stupid question, but I'm going to ask anyway. Can I back date an F-4S kit to a F-4J, and can I use a F-4F to make an F-4E?? I can get plenty of Italeri 1/72 F-4S kits an Revell F-4F kits, but want to build some F-4J's and F-4E's. I know that Hasegawa do an F-4J, but the price puts me off, and no-one does an F-4E at all. Thanks for any help with this problem.
Andre
Can I back date an F-4S kit to a F-4J, and can I use a F-4F to make an F-4E?? With the right parts - yes. To make a J from an S you'd need unslatted outer wings, and the removal of the molded slat actuator bulges under the inner wings of Italeri's S. To convert an F to a J you'd have to replace the unslotted stabs with slotted ones. Furthermore, depending on which specific F-4E you want to model, you might need unslatted outer wings (leave RoG's underwing actuators off and don't open their associated holes in the lower wing), canopy sill mirrors, and / or a pre-Midas short nose gun fairing.
