StevenatorLTFO
Thinking of getting a big Hornet underway. I have the kit, d-mold intakes, avionics pit. Was thinking of adding the aires wheel bays and burner cans to the build. How well do the wheel bays fit, are they a drop in replacement, or do they take a lot of hacking to get them in? RiderFan
Well, you have to completely remove the molded in bays first. There's no hole to drop into until you make it :) I used a scriber tool to remove the molded in ones and the Aries ones fit fine. The lower fuselage before, during, and after the removal of the kits bays Hummm errr... yeah.. some actual 'hacking' clearly visible in this one... still, I'm pretty happy with how the finished model turned out. StevenatorLTFO
Thanks, thats exactly what I was wondering. I guess drop in wasn't the right wording, but I've heard of too many aires sets that are just too big for where they have to go, and you have to grind them paper thin to get them in.. Looks like I will be lining up a set of these as well.
