nicholassagan
I want to upgrade my Academy 1/48 MiG-29UB and am curious about parts compatibility...I'm mainly looking at the Aires wheel bay and air brake sets. Are the MiG-29 and UB the same in these two areas?

mingwin
i think i've never seen the brake open on the real thing... at least when having the centerline fuel tank installed... which is almost , all of the time... i might be wrong...
nicholassagan
i just did a sprue comparison...don't know why i didn't just do it then. but cybermodeler has the single seater academy sprues up and eduard has their UB sprues up. apparently the only difference between the two kits is the top nose sprue! yay compatibility! http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/edu/kit_edu_1157.shtml http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/edu/kit_edu_1162.shtml Edited January 13, 2014 by nicholassagan

Airbrake closes automatically when lowering the undercarriage. Also, airbrake is permanently locked (cannot be open) when attaching the centerline fuel tank.
