How things have gone up

In case some have wondered how things have changed since the war, here's a few prices to compare.

In 1970 we were paying 32 cents a gallon

I paid 75 dollars for a used car

I paid 1.500 dollars for a brand new Plymouth Duster in 1974

Color T.Vs were very expensive and had limitations .

It was common to have to go outside and adjust your antenna for better reception of your 3 channels. On a good day I could get an extra channel from Philadelphia.

When an aircraft flew by it would disrupt you picture.

Problems with the station happened now and then and a picture of a test pattern, a drawing of a gorilla being tangles up in fild and reels would be on the screen until the problem was fixed.

Minimum wage was 2.00 an hour.

When I got to my first assignment in the Air Force I was making 110.00 a month and getting paid once a month.
