Finished -- Tamiya Mig 15

Recommended Posts

Following are photos of my Tamiya Mig 15. This is an older kit dated 1996. Typical of most Tamyia kits, it goes together well.  The kit that I chose to build is a Chinese version of the Mig 15. The tail is painted Tamiya Italian Red with a Testors' Clear Dulcoat. The main wings and front fuselage are finished in Bare Metal foil. I wanted the model to look like it has been on the battle field for a while so I dirtied it up  with a black wash.  One nice thing about this kit is that it includes a nose weight to prevent the model from being a tail sitter. I wish more kits included weights.

The Mig 15 and the F-86 are both from the same era. However; the Mig 15 is smaller than the F-86. Plus, the Mig's main wing is located in a different location that the F-86 and the tail is dramatically different.
