Matt Walker
Built this some time ago, but now have the pics to post. BB pit, Hasegawa 1/48 F-16B. Finished as one of the Edwards chase birds.
Matt Walker
And the pit installed. I punched individual Waldron dials for the instruments.
smithery
Matt, what did you add for the cockpit coaming and the rear bulkhead? Looks like pieces from the Block 40/40 F-16D pit, but you'd know better than I would. BTW, nice work Matt!
Matt Walker
Hey all, The "B" set I used didn't have a rear bulkhead piece, unlike the "D" set that I have. I scratch built the rear cockpit frame and sealing rubber (sorry if my terminology isn't correct here) using plastic strip. Shots of Habu's 16B actually provided the inspiration to do this.... Re the displays, I perhaps didn't paint them the right colours. I was wanting to depict a "shut down" cockpit, with no power or lights. Prolly should have some RBF tags in there too. will be posting pics soon of the next project which is a completely "wrapped for bed" aggressor jet, covered in RBF tags.... Thanks for the info, Matthew
hemi
Mike, Did you know Kenny Stout.I think he was an F-16 crew chief at Edwards at this time.Nice build...Mark
Iron Eagle
Painting is where the hard part starts! Mike, which white paint did you use for that? It must have been a nightmare to paint that whole aircraft, because I can't even get the paint to settle evenly in the wheel bay of my F-16.
hemi
Mike, Yes I had heard the sad news of Kens untimely death. I worked with Ken on the flightline at Wright-Patt in the 906th FG. MarkH
