ron Posted September 10, 2005 Share Posted September 10, 2005 Here is my 1/48 Hasagawa Hellcat with Aires detail set. The Aires set is a beautiful piece of work except for the exhaust, it simply does not fit and requires allot of surgery, fitting etc. I ended up cutting much of it apart to fit, shortening some pipes and adding brass tubing to lengthen others. It still is not perfect but will have to do. I just finished the exhaust before taking these photos The cockpit is excellent although I did not use the seat. I used a US navy PE seat from a company I cannot remember the name of, (I only had the PE sheet I threw out the packaging along time ago). Many of the Aires PE part are very small and easily lost to the carpet gods. I’ll be painting this as a fleet air arms Hellcat Mk1, I am not sure if I’ll add invasion stripes to it or not.
