Thanks a million for all the help guys. I guess its epoxy putty that I want. I would have used styrene sheets but the problem is that the LERX is curved & that will be really difficult to model correctly with styrene. I have already cut out canards & the LERX, but they are flat. I only need the putty to get that curve effect into the LERX & blend it all. I guess epoxy putty is the way to go. Last question - Should I get THIS or THIS?? Which one will be better for my cause? Cheers & thanks for all the help guys, I really appreciate it, WD.

Hey Paul thanks for all the advice. I'll order the tamiya putty along with the airbrush ASAP. I just want to specify one more thing - I am using the putty to fill the open gaps, but also (mainly this) to expand the shoulders a bit since they will have to bend into the canards. I assume that the putty is used for that also. Its not only to fill the gaps but also to add some mass. Cheers & thanks, WD.

Thanks for all the help guys. I guess I'll have to get a tube of tamiya putty. While I'm at it I think I'll get myself a new airbrush also. I am currently using a really crap one (the tamiya basic airbrush & air compressor). I think I'll get THIS AIRBRUSH as it will fit with the compressor. In a worst case scenario, if I cant get the putty then have any of you heard of blue-tac?? Cheers & thanks in advance, WD.

I am going to start construction of my Su-30 soon, which I am going to convert to a Su-30MKI. That means that I will have to add canards. I have already cut the canards out of an old F-16 wing & I plan on sticking them onto the main fuselage, but I will have to apply some putty to make them blend in with the main body & fill the gaps. My question is this - Should I invest in some modelling putty (I will have to go through great pains to get this as its not available over here) or can I use normal putty (also known as clay). Will the effect be the same? Can I paint over the clay norma

Hey guys it was navy week all of last week. There was a small airshow. Just 2 helicopters & the Indian Navy display team (Sagar Kiran) made an appearance. I was hoping that a Flanker or an Indian Navy Harrier would show up but no luck. I did not have much time to get ready for it, but I managed to quickly take a few shots. Check them out at www.rustom.tk I hope you like them. Feedback appreciated. Cheers & thanks, WD.

I kind of like it clean. I am going to start a 1:48 cat soon in this scheme - Now I dont want any dirt to come over that gloss.......Mine will be clean.

All Points taken....thanks guys! Going to start cutting up the F-16's wings to make the shoulders.

THIS should help you. Dont know if it has exactly what you want, but check it out.

Hey guys I need some help with this. I cut up an old 1:48 F-16 to make the canards for my Su-30 MKI. I used the tail fins. It came out really well. Now I have to make the shoulders, but I have a small problem. I have referred to many diagrams (mainly of the Su-33) & some of the MKI & seen many pics, but I am getting varied results from them, so I thought I would ask you guys about this. Please look at the 2 pics that I am posting. They are of 2 different MKI models. Look at the portion connecting the shoulder & the wing. Note in the above pic - no curve. Note the curve

Point taken......thanks for all the input guys!! ;)

I will be using fevicol white glue then. So all I have to do is use a toothpick & apply slightly watered down white glue in the gaps?? Thats all? Will this be more effective than the platic bits filling method?? Cheers & thanks for the help guys, WD.

You are right, they do move, but I am building them as a single unit.

Hey guys, I am going to be starting my 1:48 Su-27 UB Flanker C (going to convert to a Su-30MKI) in a week or so, but I just wanted to clear up 1 thing. I am going to be scratchbuilding & adding the canards to the model, but I am guessing that the added canards & the original fuselage will be hard to blend together. The best way to fill the gaps would be to fill them up, but there are different methods of filling & I need to know which one is best suited for me. I want to point out that model filler is not available here. 1. Josh Hendersons method of using white glue to fill t
