  1. Good to know. I have a spare Revell He-177 turret given to my by a firend, I'll give it a try. Best regards. José
  2. Good to know that. I have an Il-2 with regular wings, but they are the late metal wings with mass balances near the wing tips. Thanks a lot for your replies. Best regards. José.
  3. Just bought the Eastern Express Il-2M3 w/ NS-37 guns (swept wings), but all info I could find is about Il-2M (straight wings) with those guns, so the question is... There were really Il-2M3 using 37mm guns? This Il-2 theme is really big, many variants ans sub-variants  now I have 3 of them and all are different variants (the others are an Il-2 and Il-2M, Academy and another Eastern Express ex-Toko I think). Thanks a lot in advance. Best regards. José.
  4. No reply at a specialized forum (I mean a Luftwaffe-only forum) and no reply here, I guess this one is very hard to answer :lol:/> I'll better build an early version. Best regards. José.
  5. We know that late He-111H used a dorsal turret, I'd like to know if it was the very same turret used on He-177 bombers. I want to build a late He-111 using the Italeri kit as the base kit (I just bought the Hasegawa offering). Thanks a lot in advance. Best regards. José.
  6. Thank you for your replies. I checked it again and I think it is indeed a Ki-61-I Tei, some details still missing. Is it really an old kit? It has recessed panel lines... Well, detail is very simple in some areas and wheel wells are suspicious, but it can be corrected. I want it to have full armament so 244th squad is a no no for me. I thought that those were bulges because I saw in another forum that somebody used putty to give it the correct shape (the kit was 1/32 though)... I guess my kit's shape is not 100% accurate but I can live with that. Best regards. José.
  7. I just bought Hasegawa's Ki-61-I Tei in 1/72. I read somewhere that it is a very old kit, but it is very nice indeed. I heard something about different versions, about a "long" and a "short" nose. Checking pics in the net, some of them seem to have some bulges in the lower part of the cowling, just behind the propeller, bulges that my kit certainly doesn't have. Any info about these bulges and I also want to know if my kit is a "short nose" or a "long nose". Thanks a lot in advance. Best regards. José.
  8. Oh yeah! Masking WWII aircraft canopies like He-111's... The other thing I hate most is painting white or yellow.
  9. So Airfix is reducing their 1/48... Better I wait. Thanks for your replies. Best regards. José.
  10. I know that there's some of them around, I want to build either an F.3 or an F.6. I don't care about details or panel lines, only shape issues, the rest can be easily fixed with scratchbuild and a good scriber. Thanks a lot in advance. Best regards. José.
  11. Forget about the spare tailplanes, they're the late tailplanes to be used on the C.205... Well, just ordered a C.205, I hope it comes with the C.202 tailplanes for using them on the C.200. Thank you all for your replies. Best regards. José.
  12. Oh, right I forgot to tell which aircraft I have. I have a C.200, C.202 and C.205. I also have a SM.79-I. I'll try to find a page with color chips. Best regards. José.
  13. Smaller tailplanes from Italeri kit way bigger (and better detailed) than Revell's C.202. Best regards. José.
  14. I already bought the Model Master 2110 Italian sand, but it looks too dark and too brownish for me. I've seen finished kits painted with a lighter, yellowish sand. Let me know if you know the best match for this color, even if it is a mix. Thanks a lot in advance. Best regards. José.
  15. I'l check that, but I think it's easy to fix. Still can find wartime pics of C.200 with a propeller spinner, all I could find are model kit pics, but they're C.200 w/ enclosed canopy. P.S. Just noticed that Italeri's 1/72 C.202 comes with extra tailplanes, smaller and marked "not for use". I have this parts, maybe I can use them on my C.200?
  16. I saw a 1/72 Revell kit at a good price in my LHS and I couldn't resist and bought it. I have some questions about the kits and the actual aircraft: 1.- Is it an original Revell kit or is it another typical Revell of Germany rebox? 2.- How accurate is it? I see it is very simple without cockpit details or wheel wells, but I'm talking about the overall shape/dimmensions. 3.- I began looking for pics inmediately after I arrived home from my trip to the LHS. I see the kit's propeller has a conical spinner, but it in the pictures I found on the net, they have no spinner, like most American airc
  17. Yes, I'm talking the black box at the far right side, in the right wall, crew access hatch is below that box in fighter Mosquitoes, but i only see some cables, no hatch there. I'm starting to think it is not an NF.30... Well, awaiting for more info, I need to build the cockpit frst to join the fuselage side, otherwise sculpting a new nose for my kit (an 1/72 Airfix Mosquito) will be a little difficult. Best regards. José.
  18. Found the picture, it is from a book: It says it is an NF.30 cockpit, but the instrument panel looks different compared to known Mossies'. The spade grip is there, as well the radar display boxes, but I can't see the crew access hatch, it should be below the "black box" to the right side of the picture... Well, if this is actually a Mosquito cockpit it is like comparing a Bf-109G with an Bf-109K, their instrument panels are different. The book the pic belongs too is: Aeroplane Icons - Mosquito, used for discussion only. If anyone has further info, please let me know.
  19. I saw a picture days ago. It said it was a Mosquito NF.30 cockpit, but the control column had an spade grip, I remember it was a more "triangular" grip as seen on a Sea Fury, not a "circular" one like a Spitfire's. I'd like to know if this is common/uncommon or it is just a restored aircraft, Can't find the picture anymore :( Best regards. José.
  20. All I could find in my LHS were a couple of Airfix Mk.II/VI/XVIII Mosquitoes, and I bought both. I want to convert one of them to a TR.33 Sea Mosquito, but no 4-bladed propellers are provided, they're provided only within the NF.XIX/J.30 boxing. If anyone have them as spare parts, please contact me I'll give them a good use. Thanks a lot in advance. Best regards. José.
  21. OK, good to know that. Sabre 6 had a different wing (again a different wing >.<), I think it was like F-40 w/o the increased length, right? Best regards. José.
  22. OK, now I know which kit to use... I also want to build a Pakistani Sabre as well... So many options so little time :( Thanks a lot for your replies. Best regards. José.
  23. Oh, so they're F-40 wings... I thought they were the earlier F-86E wings, no way to know for sure unless we have a top view of the wing tips. I have the HobbyBoss F-40, I guess this kits sould work as well. Thanks for your replies. Best regards. José. *EDITED* It looks like it is actually a F-40 wing, see this picture: Check the wings: The aileron looks a bit far from the wing tip, the earlier wings had the aileron reaching the wing tip, so F-40 is the one to use.
  24. I want to build a Peruvian F-86 Sabre in 1/72. According to the serial numbers, the aircraft provided to the FAP were F-86F-25-NH. All I could find were F-86F-30 kits and an F-86E, but in 1/48 (Italeri). I'd like to know if there were major differences between the F-25 and the F-30 (at least there were lots of differences between P-47D-25 and D-30) so I can just paint the F-30 in Peruvian markings. Thanks a lot in advance. Best regards. José.
  25. Oh yes, I forgot that some FB.XVIII had only two .303 guns... I want to build one of those, I always like to build the "latest" versions... Too bad they didn't used dark gray/sky camo scheme, I'd have to buy another one to build an FB.VI. Thanks a lot for your replies. Best regards. José.
