What an absolute stunner. Just so right on every level.

Parts Sourced. Disregard post.

Very very nice. I am amazed at how well you are able to blend the unpainted wings in with the fuselage to get a seemless look.

Hi Dave,
What would you like for this?
Don

Awesome build Chris. This the Buff you were working on Friday?

Parts sourced thanks to Joe Falen. I'm in your debt sir. Don

Some do but unfortunately this one doesn't.

Nice tribute Don. Did not realize that was a McConnell bird. 😢
She was a McConnell bird but was flown by a Fairchild crew. Indeed sad loss.

Any word on the tall tail Buff sheet in 1/144? I have two on the shelf waiting for Caracal goodness.

Hi all,
I have the HPH 1/48 B-52H but the fit is absolutly awful, nose profile is off and I'm losing heart to finish it to be honest.
So, plan B is giving up on the HPH kit and getting a couple of Modelcollect 1/72 BUFFs. I'd like to build a pre Phase VI 'H in SAC NMF and white anti-flash with four Skybolt missles, and a pre Phase VI 'G as operated in the Vietnam action.
What I am having difficulty with is which Modelcollect kits had serious fundamental issues and which later kits had these remedied, as I understand it nose profile, leading edge wing profile and a bunch of other issues.
Hoping someone can advise which Modelcollect kits to avoid and which have the initial issues resolved.
Thanks all,
Marc.
I don't think the Skybolt ever made it past the test phase before Kennedy cancelled the program. I think the only pics I ever saw of an H toting around a brace of Skybolts were for testing. Others may know more than I do so I'd defer to them.

You are very kind. I used Testors Aircraft Grey (ADC Grey) FS16473, lightened with a touch of white befitting 1/144 scale. It's the same gray I used on my Roden C-141B.
It seems lighter in color that your C-141B. Which, by the way, is another phenominal build.

I feel your pain Brother Don, though not as many in 1/72 I only have the started RC-135 and an E-3A. My new house does not have the space for the larger builds so getting back into them has been a slow process with house updates getting in the way. I need to figure a way to display them.
I've got the same display issues as well Brother Ray. It's the main reason I went to 1/144 with my larger multi-engine kits. I have a half dozen RC and KC-135's in the stash that I'm wondering what to do with them if I ever do get them built. My 1/72 RC-135E is in the final stretch and I suppose I'll just hang it from the ceiling when it's done. I could always donate it to the 45th Recon Squadron for their display.

Wow! Excellent kitbash there. You are the master of 1/144 -135s!
My problem is finishing them. Between all my 135's and 707 builds I probably have over two dozen half builts sitting on the shelves. And only a single KC-135R finished.

I think I'd have cut open all my fingers trying to split the sticks like he's doing. I see many trips to the ER.

I'm on a quest to finish as many 1950's USN jet kits in my stash before DBMK releases their F11F Tiger since that plane is a Holy Grail for me.
WHAT??? New F11F Tiger! When? Where?
Oh, and your Fury is drop dead gorgeous.

I'm backdating one of my 1/144 Roden RC-135 Rivet Joints to an earlier version with TF-33's and the earlier antenna suite. These were the antennas with the large disc's at the bottom of the blade. I'm planning on this being 4135. The engines are from the Minicraft KC-135E kit. I have a set of JT3D engines from the Roden 720B kit but they seem a little large. I'm probably going to use them for the NC-135W (2666) that I've also started.

Absolutely fan-friggin-tastic build Jost. I used to live next to Offutt and would see these Looking Glass aircraft fly all the time. Can't wait to see your finished Combat Sent and then your Rivet Joint. And while you're at it, you might as well go ahead and build a Cobra Ball.

I've neglected to tell you how nice your KC-135A is. I admire your build and refer back to it as I build mine. What color did you use to paint the light colored area on your engines. It appears white but I'm not sure.

Hey no sweat...I actually just found the missing one! I was logging on to give you a wave off.
Thank you all the same for taking a look. The missing one must've fell out of the box, it was on the shelf where the kit was stored.
Great news Andy. Glad you were able to locate the missing piece.

Thanks Don. Standing by.
Just went through the parts bin and could not find them. I may have tossed them. Sorry if I got your hopes up.

Let me check and see if I still have them from the last C-47 I built. Pretty sure I did not use them.

Getting there! Almost done. Looking really nice Bastian.

Why not build both a Rivet Joint and Cobra Ball? And your Combat Sent is simply fantastic.
