  1. I just came across the exotic and the cowl solution: Backdating the -7 into a -4, the one and only mythical Honduran Air Force LIGHT GRAY #614! Now, that means Joe's been right all the time in that I'll end up just buying the -5.
  2. You're right about the position of the exhaust stacks and the cowl ring on the AU and the -7. So I'll take your advice and turn one of my -7´s on into an AU. I´ll have to decide between the French in Indochina or the sportsy light gray&white late 50's of the US Navy/Marines. That still leaves me with the problem of turning the other -7 into a -5. But no that I realize about the higher location of the exhaust stacks on the -5, I'm not so sure just how easy a conversion might be.
  3. Hello. Interesting subject. I'm really looking forward to seeing the camo work. I have one B-26 on my list of future projects. BTW, the "bump" on the nose on this Biafran Invader was actually a locally adapted MG. Its not a radar, at least not at that point in time of the service life of this AC, but it once was when the AC was in French service and that bulge was a result of some radar system installation . In fact, this AC was flown in the Bifran conflict by a Polish mercenary. It's a really interesting story. Also, they never managed to get the internal bombay system working properly, and
  4. Why do you say about the difficulty, because of the position of the exhaust pipes? The thing is I want to make the Argentine -5, and RE an AU-1, I don´t know of any "exotic" birds in foreign service. Any suggestions?
  5. Thanks for the advice, Joe. But what happens is I have 2 F4U-7 kits collecting dust in my stash, so I thought I'd make good use of at least one of them.
  6. Sharkmouth, thanks for the info. Do I understand that you actually have the conversion for the Heller (that's the kit I'll be using)? The decals are coming thanks to Mr. Aldo Flores' fresh out of the oven set. I'll also be starting a set of FG1's from the FAS 100 hrs. War also with Aztec Models brand new decal set.
  7. Hello, to all. I am looking for an aftermarket 1/48 F4U-5 cowling. I am about to start a project on an Argentinean Corsair, but I need the cowling in order to modify the kit I'll be using. If anybody knows where I can find that cowling, I will appreciate any help.
