  1. Okay, I was just going by what was on the box. So, let me rephrase, then: Has anyone ever seen a camouflaged two-seat Flagon of any designation, although Su-15UM would be preferred. Thanks.
  2. I was just looking at that nice Pioneer Su-15 in camouflage on the front page, and I got to thinking... is there a two-seater in cammo anywhere? I have the Pioneer2 Su-21U, and while not a bad looking kit, I'd really like to do it in something other than silver. However, I can't seem to find any pictures of a non-silver Flagon trainer anywhere. Has anyone here ever heard of or seen a Su-21U in non-silver? Thanks!
  3. I have a FROG Blitz/He-162 What-If mistel that I did, as well as a What If He-219 missile carrier, plus there's my old What If twin V1 (Fi-203 - it's also on the website) and a Heller Komet that I converted to Jet power. I also twinned an old Heller FW-190D. As you can see, I like my What Ifs, and old kits are a perfect way to do them. I think that's about the extent of my older kit stash that's built, though. I just finished a Heller Mirage IV from the mid 70's, though. I'll get all of these up in the coming months. I have a pair of FROG Pfeils, a Meteor, an FW-190A and a Blitz still to buil
  4. Thanks, man! I appreciate it. Like all old kits (cough, Heller, cough), it wasn't easy, but with some time and attention, the old ones can still be serviceable kits. Thanks for the kudos!
  5. Given the mystique that surrounds Tank's final "butcher bird", it's no surprise that there's been a lot of kits of this thing! Of course, some kits are better than others, but you know what they say: "The first and still the finest!". Well, okay, they're wrong. But the FROG Ta-152H was, I think, the first kit of this sexy plane, and really, the kit isn't bad at all! It's no Tamigawa, but then again, it was reissued by Revell Germany (shudder...)! Let me know what you think! Anyone remember building this as a kid?
  6. Yeah, a 1/144 Mig 19 is a bit too small for my tastes! At least the 1/100 stuff that Tamiya made is all in scale to my 1/100 Gundams, like the one I just finished, the 1/100 Astrea F. Scary part is that the mech is about 7.5" tall, and that's 1/100!
  7. Dude... you're insane... :) That's an awesome job; Glencoe kits scare the bejeezus out of me! You're a better and braver man than I!
  8. Thanks! I appreciate the compliments! The biggest problem was the awful plastic quality. If it had been more like normal styrene, it would have been just fine, I think. I have looked, and I've never seen another one done like this either. I love the obscure stuff in history, and finding out about the impressed service Trimotor really got my modelling mojo going. I guess it could be one of a kind, eh?
  9. Hey Gang! Here's something a bit different; the only Ford Trimotor that was put into service by the RAF. Apparently she flew to Norway and in the Dunkirk evacuation. Man, I can't imagine trying to fly one of these beasts in hostile skies! This kit was a real beast; the worst kit with the worst quality I've very tried. Let me know what you think! As always, the full article and some in-process shots are at The Sprue Lagoon.
  10. Hey all! A little while ago, somebody suggested that I should post a link to my Romb-1 Forger here. I like things that are a bit unusual, and a Yak-38 dressed up for the desert is certianly that. This is one of the kits I have on my website, The Sprue Lagoon. Please feel free to take a look around and tell me what you think of both the site and this Forger! Thanks!

    Fi-203

Thanks! I didn't think that reading a bit of explanation would prove to be so arduous for people, but I might have been wrong. I've included a picture at the top of the article now, so you can see it when you click the link in the post above. Or, you can see it here. Do read the article, though; there's a lot of work in this little guy!

What do you mean no pictures? Click on the link and you'll see pictures and a build report, both!

    Fi-203

I accidentally put this in the armour forum! I don't know how to move it, so I just copied it here. It's more up this group's alley then the tank guys', I'd say! So, this is what you get when you have an old Frog V-1 and a Heller Fi-103 hanging around: The Fi-203! Check it out, and remember, this is not a REAL Luft '46 project (man, that sounds weird...), it's right from my head. You can't even blame the crazy state of the Nazi aircraft industry for this one!
  14. Faired-in targeting pod to Starboard = AWESOME! That looks absolutely fantastic! Amazing work!

  16. Thanks, man! I love that they gave it Cuban markings, even if it isn't right for that model of MiG-19. Who on earth would even THINK of that back in the '70s, when the kit first came out. I wonder if it was legal to sell it in the States back then? :)
  17. Ah, thanks! I saw it was the Kinetc, but I didn't catch the scale. The lack of "sunroofs" is what made it look odd, I couldn't figure it out! I didn't know there weren't any on the first ones. Awesome! Not only a nice kit, but I got to learn something too!
  18. Nice work! Which kit is that, by the way? Nice to see a Canuck bird as always!
  19. Hey all! Please swing by my site and check out my Tamiya 1/100 MiG-19PM!. I just saw the other day that Trumpeter (I think) is actually going to be making one of these in 1/72! Finally! I hope that means JJ-6s and A-5 Fantan's can't be too far behind. Anyway, he's small, but I had fun trying some new techniques on this little bird, and I think it turned out pretty well. Let me know what you think!

    Tamiya MiG-19

Nice! I am surprised that, with all the crazy Chinese stuff Trumpeter does, that we haven't seen a 1/72 F-7MG, A-5 and JJ-6. THose are all things I'd love to see. Maybe I need to get another tiny MiG-19 and do a trainer... Hmmmm...

    Tamiya MiG-19

That's true, we do finally have some nice big MiG-19's but it seems to have taken a while. I really wish there was a nice 1/72 one, though. That having been said, has anyone ever seen a kit in 1/72 of the A-5 Fantan, or better yet, the two-seater! Now THAT is a sexy, sexy airplane!
  22. This might not be the newest kit on the block, but for a long time the 1/100 Tamiya MiG-19 PM Farmer E was one of the only ways to get a MiG-19 in plastic! It's amazing just how well the old bird fits together, even in this, it's reissued form. Tamiya really knew what they were doing when it came to making good kits and good moulds, didn't they? Let me know what you think!
  23. It seems we often hear criticisms of new models. The shape of the tail isn't quite right, or the seat isn't all that great, etc. However, I think we've forgotten just how bad things USED to be, or maybe some of us haven't really ever experienced it! Well, here for your viewing pleasure is my out of box review for the old Heller Bf-109. Enjoy, and let's all be glad they don't make them like they used to!
  24. They made the HGUC Dra-C only a short while ago. Maybe a year and a half ago? Check it out at 1999.co.jp/eng/gundam, and you can see the kit sprues and instructions. It's a nice kit, but not very impressive from a part count standpoint. It is AWESOME though, that they finally made one. The Dra-C appears in Unicorn, I believe, in a magenta livery (like the Geara Zulu piloted by Angelo Sauper). I think they were retconned into the Zeta movies, like the Guncannon from 0083 and RGM-79Ns, too. I love that they did that. I really want to see the Zeta movies if just for that! Thanks for the comp
  25. Hey all! If you have a chance, please go check out my Dra-G over at The Sprue Lagoon. If you like sci-fi stuff, you should find something of interest in this semi-humaniform heavy assault mobile suit! Let me know what you think!
