Some of the tiny words on the Microscale 1/48 AH1G/J stencils that I have are printed in Latin! I know the USMC motto is Semper Fidelis but didnt realise they had to learn the language too!

I think it depends on the subject and whether they stand out or not. I have a black 1/72 Kamov KA50 that is covered in tiny red decals that looks great and am about to build a 1/72 Kamov KA52 which is similarly adorned n will sit nicely next to my Mil Mi28a and Mi28n which are both full of them, yet my AH-64 Apaches, AH-1 Cobras and A129 Mangustas have barely no stencils at all, but I don't really notice. In my case I just tend to put on whatever comes with the supplied decals. I've got a set of Microscale 1/48 AH-1G and AH-1J decals which come with 3 full sets of stencils but no placement in

Thanks for that, had a look n could be just what I need! Thats the numbers sorted all I need is the UNITED STATES ARMY lettering in white, which is proving elusive and kinda strange cos I have a set of white 1/72nd decals which I found inside an old Matchbox AH64A kit which I never bothered to make, although I don't know what the decals were doing there cos they seem to be from a different kit.

I've never been one for what-ifs but that is stunning! Kinda reminds me of the US Marines VMFA-531 F-4B Phantom II that was onboard the HMS Ark Royal and had to be hastily repainted in Royal Navy 892 Squadron F-4K colours when the Ark Royal docked in Malta in 1973 at a time when USA and Malta weren't on speaking terms. How about an F-14D in Royal Air Force colours cos they were actually considered for purchase until they bought the Tornado IDS instead?

Thanks, I'll try n track him down!

Are the British and Netherlands AH64 Apaches the same colour as the U.S.Army Apaches and is the colour FS34031 US Army Helo Drab? I ask because the kits I built years ago said to use Olive Drab and I just bought a Revell 1/48 kit that has all three versions down as NATO Drab. I'm just about to start building all 3 versions once my Academy AH64A and Hasegawa AH64D arrive from Japan, although the D is the JGSDF version which I bought for the decals.

Does anyone know where I can get a set of white decals for a 1/48 AH-1S. I have a Fujimi AH-1S that I built last year and would love to turn it into a model of the AH-1S on display at the San Diego Aerospace museum because it would go great next to my Japanese AH-1S with white markings and also a US Marines AH-1J with white markings that is on its way to me. I have a set of Isradecals AH-1S decals with white numbers and a set of Microscale AH-1J decals that came with a full set of white stencils that I'm sure I could put to use, but am struggling to find the United States Army decals on the t

Oh, floyd, you little mercenary! Funny thing is I was so close to buying that decal set and making a few of them last year but decided to go for a mix of Apaches and Cobras - all versions - instead. My AH1S/Fs are now a multinational consortium of US, Israeli, Japanese, Jordanian, Bahrain and Thai models! I've never tried acrylic paint before but may buy a tin of that one u recommend to at least see the actual colour and try to match it with my enamel paints.

Has anybody seen a kit for the AW129 Mangusta with the 20mm gatling gun or does anybody know of any conversion or add-on kits to add the 20mm gun and ammo box to the Italeri or Tamiya 1/72 kits? Cant believe nobody has made a full kit of this model yet! Also does anyone know what happened to the Cunarmodel 1/72 A129 Mangusta that got as far as the boxart stage at least? It looked like the prototype model with the grey colour scheme and a few external differences to the production model. Does anyone know of any plans to release a model of the TAI T129 ATAK version also?

Tried to google it but could only find Testors US Army Helo Drab FS 34031, which looks like the 'grey' Humbrol 66 olive drab that I tried. Is that the one you mean? If I just painted the model using the Humbrol 116 US Dark Green FS34079 that I have would I be totally wrong?

So green is the path I should be going down? Any idea what the paint number is so I can match it to the number on my Humbrol conversion chart?

Thanks, if I had posted a couple of weeks ago I would have taken you up on that but having just bought 3 Fujimis and the Monogram kit I only need to buy the Revell AH-1F with the 3 US Army decal options and I'm done with the purchase side of my AH-1S's.

Ok, this is my first ever post so be gentle with me n apologies if this topic has been talked about before! I am in the process of building a number of 1/48 Apaches and Cobras (will be 20 in total but includes a few die-casts from Forces of Valour and Franklin Mint). I'm an average modeller and usually just build OOB with no add-ons or weathering etc. My first topic is this: I've just acquired a old Monogram AH-1S Cobra (the TAH-1S training one with the large red patches on the fuselage and wings) and am stuck on what colour it's supposed to be! The instructions just say Matt Olive Drab but
