What scale, single seater, two seater?
-
Howdy folks,
title says it all, question is which kit of Monogram, Revell (Monogram rebox?) or Airfix is better apt to represent the later prototypes with the revised nose landing gear?
I understand that all of these kits are actually B-1As so not many other changes there, I hope.
Carry on!

A shade too dark, but then it could be the light.
If my memory does not betray me the ideal match would be similar to RLM76.

Don't hesitate to get your pre-order in [for your 3+ kits] since these, like their Phantom variants, will be going fast!

Done last month at Plaza Japan.

According to some history sources the RF-8 Crusader was the last NAVY recce plane to take a photo of an intact battleship row at Pearl Harbor before the Japanese attack on 12/7/1941.
Unfortunately I cannot remember what squadron detachment it was, but perhaps we can add those historically important markings to the decal sheet?

Those sets are for the initial prototypes and do not represent the pre-production airframes that would have been much more similar to the Air Force variant.

I think you are losing track of my original post or you are trying to argue for the sake of arguing as you have done in other threads before.
So this is my last post in this thread.

The three preproduction airframes I mentioned did not have the raised canopy, as evident from the photos that are widely available, the raised canopy was proposed for the final production version.

The preproduction airframes were quite different from the USAF versions. The 111B was going to have a much higher canopy to allow better vision over the nose for carrier approaches. It was also going to carry a later version of the Hughes radar So had a longer nose, similar to what was later found on the F-14A but not nearly as long as the USAF nose.
According to Tommy Thomason's comments either here or at Britmodeller, the higher canopy was not right and it was an illusion created by either the windshield steeper angle or the angle with the redesigned radome that even being shorter was much closer to the USAF variants in shape.
Tommy actually posted drawings somewhere. I have his Naval Fighters F-111B book.
In any case, the pre-production and following airframes would have been different from the first prototypes.
Tommy's correction regarding the canopy profile.

Furball just released a nice new 1/72 F-35A sheet.😉
-
How about a sheet depicting legacy and commemorative pairings, like the latest Passionate Patsy F-16 and its P-47 namesake, 1/72 first of course.

Didn't see this F-15 mentioned - in case you consider another F-15C sheet:

Wrong Blue, wrong everything.

Just got one, cockpit coamings and panel detail are upgraded. External differences on the tail fairings, engine exhaust, tail ECM bumps and front upper fuselage near the canopy. External antenna detail is different. conformal fuel tank pylons difference Sadly no new outer wing pylons were included.
Simple re-issue of their F-15SG with new decals.

Why not the 1/72 scale as well.

I understand they have one at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo.
-
Still no indications for alternative intake positioning other than full up at shutdown for a static aircraft.

Is that the newest F-14 from Academy? Nice kit, and very nice job.

Definitely NOT mod Eagle, that's the original li/dak ghost grey scheme as the IDF Eagles have carried since day one, except the Ra'am F-15I.
Also the Eagles in the photo show a mix of Sparrows AIM-7 and Amraams AIM-120.
By the way that is not an AGM-142 but a Spice Gliding/ guidance kit bolted on a 2,000 lbs low drag bomb.
