  1. Thanks Guys, I will check bot options out. Matt, I have the F-14 kit a couple of times, but I am not sure if I am skilled and able enough to do the sculpting myself. :-( (Other suggestions still welcome of course :-)) Cheers Rob
  2. Gentlemen, I would like to pose some 1/144 figures in flight, and would like to add a pilot to fill the cockpit. Can anyone recommend me some good figures ? Thanks in advance, Rob
  3. Thanks for the offer. I had never heard of this brand ! One question though. The sheet you mention, is that 1/72 ? The Lift here website shows it as 1/48. Cheers Rob
  4. I know of the Usk and Kora sets, but both seem unavailable for the moment. TIA Rob
  5. I would be interested in 1/72 USK 7111 Bulgarian Bf-109G-6 1/72 USK 7114 Royal Jugoslav AF 1940 (Bf-109E, Hurricane, etc.) if you still have them. Let me know Cheers Rob
  6. I inadvertently acquired this book twice. (Luftwaffe Camouflage & Markings Vol 2, K.A. Merrick, Classic Publications, ISBN 1-903223-39-3) It is still in its original plastic wrapping. Cover price is USD89.95. I'm willing to part with it for half that price. (Payment by Paypal, or, if in the EU, transfer) Shipping from Belgium. Cheers Rob
  7. Gentlemen, I have quite a number of decal sheets that come with the Kagero books. Most of them come in different scales and I am pretty sure I will never use the ones that are not 1/72. Rather than letting them go to waste, I was wondering if anyone is interested in trading my 1/48 & 1/32 decals for redundant 1/72 decals. The sets I have are mainly Bf109, Me262, Fw190. Any WW2 1/72 decals would do, preferably single engined fighters, and even more preferably Luftwaffe, but I am broad-minded. ;-) Happy Holidays Rob
  8. I apologize if this has been posted here, I must have missed it, but I felt some modelers might benefit from this news. I just picked up a copy of the Aéro Journal Hors Série 1 "Messerschmitt Bf109G/K" and it answers so many questions I have struggled with for so long, like all the different engine cowls, fuselage hatches, tailplanes etc, per manufacturer, listing all possible combinations of these features. It is written by the well-known Bf109 buff Jean-Claude Mermet (who previously released works on this subject). It is in French, which might be a drwaback for some, but the drawings an
  9. Gentlemen, I thought I had seen a decal set in 1/72 for Luftwaffe jets in Russian service somewhere, but I have lost track of it. I would be most interested in Me163 (B & S), Me262, and possible He162, if better decals than those in the Hobby Boss kit can be found for the latter. TIA ! Rob
  10. Sorry, for the very poor reproduction, but this is the picture in Kagero Photosniper 37, page 32 (discussion purposes only). It seems a regular Emil to me. (clickable) Any comments welcome. Rob
  11. Greg, (and others) thanks, that's indeed the intake I am after. I borrowed the Kagero book from a colleague again yesterday, and the caption said it is a E-4/B from LG2. AFAIK LG2 was never issued any Tony's, and the wingspan, although difficult to see, appears standard. I will try to take a picture of it tonight. Cheers Rob
  12. Greg, that's an interesting picture in its own right, but it's not the intake I was referring to. The aircraft picture you show seem to have an intake from an E-0, which I had never seen before (or paid attention to) on a T variant. Thanks for that one ! The intake I am after is very similar to the regular, squared E intake, but with the opening perpendicular to the centerline, instead of at a (roughly) 45 degree angle. It also seems it doesn't have the "louvres". I have seen one picture in the Kagero books on the Emil. It might be related to the square intake on very early Friedrichs. Th
  13. Gentlemen, although I have been interested in the Emil for about 20 years, something apparently escaped me for all this time. Can anyone point me towards a source for information about the Fieseler type supercharger intake on Emils, i.e. the one with the non-slanted front ? I would like to know how rare it was, and to which subtypes it was fitted. Also, would it be hard to make from scratch, or can I find aftermarket parts for it ? Thanks in advance ! Rob
  14. Thanks Guys, and especially Greg (who I was hoping for to come to the rescue ) Cheers Rob
  15. Gentlemen, I have a small library on the Mustang (the most common: Squadron/Signal, Warbird Tech, Detail and Scale,...), but none seem to give a good answer to my following questions The P-51D had two exhausts for the radiator: a) what was the purpose of the frontmost ;) what would be typical positions of both exhaust flaps in flight and on the ground c) were these identical to the P-51B/C ? Thanks in advance Rob
  16. Halifaxes are not my thing, but seeing this.. WOW. I've always had a hidden admiration for scratchbuilt models (mainly because I lack the skiills ;) ), and this one is just stunning ! Cheers Rob
  17. Sorry for getting back to you so late, I have some FM Bf109Fs, but found it disturbing that they were disappearing from the HLJ catalogue. I built one Italeri 109F some time ago, and decided to give away the rest of my stash to my younger cousin. Perhaps I should indeed limit myself to the FM kits, but as at least one positive comment was made about the new Amodel release, I might just wait a little until I read more about it, or can see the kit myself. Thanks for all your input Rob
  18. Gentlemen, I've heard some bad things about Amodels earlier kits (e.g. Bf109Z), but can anyone judge this latest release ? With the current unavailability of the Fine Molds kits I am looking for alternatives. TIA Rob
  19. and so I learn a little every day. Gentlemen, your input is much appreciated. Can you tell me where you got this information, so I can fill in the gaps in my library ? Cheers Rob
  20. Gentlemen, can anyone tell me if the second set of tailplanes of the Bf109K that Fujimi provides in its 1/48 kit was ever used on the real aircraft ? It has (what seems to be) external reinforcement on its leading edges. TIA Rob
  21. Why do I always forget to mention scale... ? Probably because I've been limited to only one for the past 20 years. It's 1/72 I've checked PJ productions, but their range is somewhat limited. Cheers Rob
  22. Yes, I have the two sets, and the early set is not that good. The best I had found so far were New Hope (white metal), but that was 20 years ago, and was hoping better stuff had come along... Chris, I should indeed have looked closer at home. I will check them out at the next modelling venue ! The pictures are not too bad, but, honestly, I've seen better. It also appears that the German figures are more suitable for bombers, and they still lack US crew. Thanks to both of you for the input and Merry Christmas ! Rob
  23. Gentlemen, I like to build my jets wheels up, but am running out of crew to fill the cockpit. Currently I would be needing good figures to fill the cockpits of my aggressors, oops, adversaries (A-4 & F-5s) What would be the best choice currently ? (1/72) TIA Rob
  24. Gentlemen, I am looking for good figures in 1/72 of Luftwaffe, USAAF & RAF crews, including seated pilots. What would currently be your advice on this ? TIA Rob
  25. George, if you are looking for the decals in 1/72, they can be found in the Fujimi offering of this bird. Cheers Rob
