  1. There's a rumour going around here in Italy that Tamiya may be joining that exclusive club of distinguished members (which currently appears to include Eduard, Hasegawa and Revell) willing to donate their 'moulds' to Hobby Boss for 'new' releases. On this occasion, it would appear the Avro Lancaster is in HB's sights for a long overdue 'overhaul'. Some contacts of mine have also informed me that some Oriental gentlemen have been sighted crawling around airframes in the UK and Canada, which just adds to the mystery. Perhaps it is, indeed, going to be Tamiya's long speculated 100th 1:48th scale
  2. Hi there, Yes.....it's Serbo-Croat, from recollection and my time in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Pre-1992, all Yugoslav Air Force MiG-21s had S-C stencilling applied either on delivery or during routine deep maintenance in their own facilities. Although the MiG-21s currently in Service with the Croatian Air Force all (I think) came from other sources after the Civil War, they have obviously maintained the 'tradition'. Hope this helps,
  3. Mike, For my money, the Hasegawa kit would be the best for the job. The particular aircraft you refer to, which appeared at the 2006 NATO Tiger Meet, is actually a bit of a mystery to me. In spite of being designated a F.1M (M for Modification under the Spanish system), this aircraft would appear to be one of the attrition replacements purchased some years ago from Dassault by Spain. It totally lacks ANY of the leading or trailing edge fin-mounted fairings for IFF, RWR etc. The only aircraft that had this feature were the first 20 or so produced for the Armee de l'Air in the early 1970s. All
  4. Many Thanks, Edgar. I got another question for you, now. I also want to do a RCAF Mk 4. Which kit do I need for this....I have a Mk 5 and Mk 6 'in stock' or do I need something else. Cheers
  5. I'm getting a little confused (not difficult !) with F-86 (CL-13) Sabres operated by Commonwealth Air Forces in the 1950-60s. All this talk about 'hard wings', 6-3 wings and slatted wings etc etc. I want to complete a Post Korean War SAAF Sabre (i.e. home-based circa 1960). Which Hasegawa kit should I use ?. A Dash 30 or -40 or the Revell CL-13 Mk 6 (Hasegawa kit with extra resin wing parts). I believe the SAAF actually used F-86s rather than Canadair CL-13s but it would be helpful to know.
  6. Yeah....I had a bit of luck overnight and have just picked up a mint condition Italeri kit of the F.3 for £12.35 from EBay. I guess there weren't too many folks sniping at 2.15 in the morning UK time. As someone said, these often go for £25.00 plus. Anyway....another one off the list

    A-26 Invader

I would like to model the new Revell 1:72 A-26B(B-26B) Invader with a Korean-War era 6-gun nose. Before I start chopping up plastic parts does anyone know if there is an aftermarket conversion set to convert the existing kit parts ?.
  8. I am trying to ascertain if the 1:48th Scale Revell/Monogram A-26 (B-26) family of Invader kits have raised or engraved panel lines. Can anyone out there in ARC Land help ?
  9. I have encountered some problems working out which ejection seats are best for my Classic Airframe EE Canberra B.2. I have read a review that suggests the resin ejection seats supplied with the kit are wholly inaccurate. Personally, I find this hard to believe of CA, but if it is fact I need to know. I would be grateful for any advice on suitable, resin replacement items.
