  1. Thanks guys! Yes I illustrated the box art, although the base 3D model was supplied by Tanmodel to save time (I normally always make my own 3D models). The background represents Møns Klint, which are a Danish chalk formation, similar to the white cliffs of Dover :) I don't mind critique at all. Helps me to progress to greater works :) Please have a look at the links below my post for more examples of my work.
  2. That's looking great, Baris! Thank you very much, just about the biggest compliment I could wish for! :) Great to hear, thanks! :)
  3. Both sketches are excellent. The Trojan is a favourite of mine. I always considered it a "mini Skyraider" until I saw one in person and realised it's not so "mini" at all!!!
  4. Very nice drawings, featuring some of my favourite a/c!
  5. PS. Some of the image links on that photopage don't work. Simply drag the thumbnail photo into the address bar and remove -t.

    Thus:

    becomes

This too shows the dark windshield interior colour clearly.

  6. Thanks a lot guys, I am glad you like it! The registration was specifically requested by Damien (the author), but it's in fact a real TSR2 registration of one of the early production machines.
  7. Hopefully you all had a good Christmas! Here's one of my latest works. Hell-For-Leather After their nuclear attack against a Soviet industrial target, the crew of this TSR2 dive back to the relative safety of supersonic low-level flight. With the bomber’s cover now broken, a “Shilka†self-propelled anti-aircraft gun is the first enemy unit to respond. As they speed away from the target, hopes are high for a safe return to their forward air base in West Germany... if it is still there. This is the doomsday scenario that could have unfolded, had the Cold War turned hot and had the TSR2
  8. Finally my doormat went *thunk* this afternoon! What a fantastic book Damien! I wish all aviation books oozed this much quality. You've put a tremendous amount of effort in this one, and it shows. Nothing comes close. XS666 colours I hope?
  9. An update: The model is now complete and I am currently working on the textures.
  10. My main modelling technique is called subdivisional modelling, which uses polygons then subdivides them with the Meshsmooth modifier. Here's a good tutorial that shows how to build a car using this technique:http://www.3dtotal.com/team/Tutorials/fiat500/fiat500.php Modeling an airplane follows a very similar work flow. 3DTotal has quite a few good tutorial, so do check them out. Also once you get the grip of the basics, here's a forum post that should help you with the trickier areas of aircraft modeling: http://www.military-meshes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89 Once you finish a model an
  11. Cheers guys! Kev, I'm indeed using Max.
  12. Thanks for the comments! Here's a recent update:
  13. I suppose KNIL and RNLAF were different organisations, though it's a little vague anyway as at the time the air force was called LSK (Luchtstrijdkrachten) in Holland. The well-known 75-year RNLAF book does include the P-40s, P-51s and B-25s though, so it's a little confusing.
  14. No amount of profile drawing skill can make that one pretty! Good work tho'! I see there's a little bit more detail to be added? (missile rail) Polly looks great, by the way! Interesting to see they used J-063 for this. I did a tiny little bit of work on this one during a traineeship with the KLu over a decade ago, while this machine was being upgraded to MLU standard (thanks to which it achieved this kill). Not sure if that statement is correct, by the way. Dutch pilots scored a few victories over the former Netherlands East Indies between 1945 and 1962, if I'm not mistaken.
  15. I'm actively working on this baby again. Next step is cutting in the canopy windows and other details...
  16. I'm glad it's so well received! Thanks for the additional comments, guys!
  17. Hi Lieuwe! Last weekend I finally saw "our" F-16 perform at the Eastbourne airshow. Initially I was a bit skeptic about this year's vibrant colour scheme, but having seen it in action it's actually quite superb. The metallic orange reflects against the G-induced vapours coming off the wings and this makes the aircraft look like it's on fire! It works really well, absolutely superb! As for the Belgian poster... design looks good but I have to be honest, that "digital" font is horrible!
  18. Cool subject! Is that digital art or a photographed scale model?
  19. Thank you VERY much, guys! GReg, that's about as big as compliments come for me, as one of the artists for these Japanese kits is one of my main inspirations: Shigeo Koike.
  20. Thank you very much for your replies and congratulations!
  21. Awesome stuff Lieuwe. This year's KLu demo scheme sure is... different! One suggection though: maybe add little "breaks" in the fuselage highlight where there are panel lines, as the surface looks extremely smooth now. This photo shows what I mean: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Italy---Air...-ADF/1224975/L/
  22. Here's a piece of aviation art I completed earlier this year: Click for larger image. In-between family expansions (the second one less than a fortnight ago!) and non-aviation-related work, I managed to get some aviation art done. Here is the first of over a dozen of images, both 3D scenes and 2D profile art, which I created for Ian Allan's upcoming book about Japanese x-planes in the popular Midland Publishing Secret Projects series. I was lucky enough to be commissioned the front cover illustration, which is the image shown here. I've dubbed the image "Slice & Dice". The scene is en
