  1. Simply superb.... :) I am undertaking the same kit and hope I can get half as good a result as yours. Well done Ian
  2. Hi as a newbie myself well, returning to the SPORT after 30 years away. I have moved from 1/32 scale armour that was my think back then to 1/48 scale planes. Just to get my hand back in again. (will go down to 1/72 scale if my eye sight lets me.....lol) I echo what everyone says go for something that grabs you. Have a look around the forum at some of the models, that's what I did. I now have a stash of F-104's the bird is hypnotic, if you want to build it right then research as well. Also this forum is great the guys are so helpful and the tips are real good too. Wish you all the best
  3. When you have decided on which way to go can you let me know if it was a success as thats my next project. Just building the F-104 'Olympus' hope to display pictures of the build soon. Hope you have success, Ian
  4. That piece of kit looks just the job. I have loads of little tool boxes with different manufactures paints in, then one for tools and its so hard to keep them all on the worksurface at the same time. That little beauty allows you to have it alongside of you. Just going to look around the local stores this afternoon. TTFN, Ian
  5. Thanx for the welcome, nice to know I am amoung friends. The information is just great. I just got to pluck up the courage to spray the model wirh Klear. Will let you know how I get on!
  6. Hi everyone, I have just returne to modelling ofter 35 years and am building a F-104 "Olympos" I notice that in the magazines its telling me to coat the finished plane with Johnsons Klear before applying the decals. Now I need to know if this is the same Klear floor polish! What is the correct procedure to finish off the model then, I have it painted ready for Decals......... What are the next steps to give me a finished model. Many thanks in Advance. Ian P.S. Looks like this could be a good place for loads of advice.
