I have to agree with 11bee on this one, the US Army needs to go back to a layered ADA set-up, and the US Army is testing the AIAMD (Army Integrated Air and Missile Defense System), which would combine several different ADA systems into one integrated system. The Iron Dome would be the short-to-med range portion of it, however, the US Army has been testing what is known as the IFPC Inc 2-I (Integrated Fire Protection Capability Increment 2-Intercept) using a launcher about the size of a deuce and a half truck, the Sentinel radar system, and either the AIM-9X or Longbow Hellfire missile (or both). I would venture to guess why the Army is asking to purchase Iron Dome is because the IFPC is still in testing, meanwhile the US Army has a desperate need for something that can defend ground troops against artillery shells, rockets, mortars and small UAVs, something that Stingers nor Patriots are equipped to handle.
When I joined the US Army in 1990 (and assigned to a Patriot battalion in 1992-1994) this is what the Army had for ADA systems...
(short range)
M2 machine gun.....(yeah, the good ole' Ma Deuce.....I love shooting that thing....cleaning, not so much)
M-163 Vulcan (either mounted on an M113, or trailer towed)
MIM-72 Chaparral (but it was on it's way out replaced by....)
MIM-1097 Avenger
(medium range)
MIM-23 Hawk
(long range)
MIM-104 Patriot
What the US Army has now for ADA systems now.....
(short range)
M2 machine gun....(still shooting strong)
MIM-1097 Avenger (which some systems may be integrated with the Stryker, and possible re-introduced on the M2 Bradley)
(med to long range)
MIM-104 Patriot
THAAD
I think it's time to add more systems.....

I've used tier decals a couple of times with no issues with use. However, I would recommend having some photos of what you plan to build, they do occasionally have errors.

I have a FA-50 decal sheet ready and waiting for conversion parts to appear. Pretty much all of the exported aircraft are the FA-50 variant and need a different fin tip in addition to some other parts like pylons etc.

You're an industry powerhouse Kursad. I’m sure you could pick up the phone and the parts or kits would appear. 😎
While we are on the subject of converting the T-50 into the FA-50...…
Halfway down on the first post.....
Your welcome...

So I just snagged a KAI T-50 for cheap and am now looking for decals and I’m finding nothing. Philippines, Iraq, ROKAF all have neat low vis schemes for this jet.
There is a small outfit called Blue Diamond Decals that has a few sets for Philippine Air Force FA-50PH aircraft.
They could be reached through their Facebook group page...

Yes. There are several more in the book and a color profile. That is the only one I remember with a pod.
Yeah, so far, that is the only picture that I could find with that pod mounted. There was no explanation of the pod in the picture caption. Being that the 124th was one of two of the last USAF/ANG units to fly the Scorpion (converted to the F-84F in 1969), I would venture a guess that it could be a prototype of a early counter ECM pod.....but that's just a guess.

I haven't seen anything on their Facebook page to suggest they're not producing it, so I'm staying hopeful. You might shoot them an email and ask and let us know what they say.

It could be worse.....
They could announce the kit's imminent release for about 10 years, much like what Trumpeter/Hobbyboss has done with the 1/72 A-4s and MiG-19s.....
There are currently more Bigfoot sightings than sightings of these kits in that time period......

Kits of the USS Enterprise from that era are rather rare and all out of production. Some can be found on eBay from time to time and unless someone here or on another forum has a kit that they will part with, eBay is your best best.
I think the biggest and probably the best was the 1/400 scale kit by Otaki:
Needless to say, not cheap.
I think that kit was also released/copied by Lee and can still be found cheaper:
Revell also released a 1/400 scale version of the Enterprise from that era, perhaps another Otaki copy or re-release. Very rare.
Nichimo released a 1/500 scale version. Also very rare, questionable quality.
Finally, Cyber-hobby released a 1/700 scale kit also rare.
Do you have any idea how big his original Enterprise kit was? The Otaki and other 1/400 kits are almost three feet long. The 1/700 scale kit is probably a foot and a half.
Revell released a 1/720 scale USS Enterprise in 1969, that has been re-released a couple of times

It's currently out of production, but you can find them on Ebay every once in a while.

K-8 KARAKORUM help
in Jet Modeling
Posted
The El Presidente set is the only 1/72 K-8 aftermarket decal sheet that I am aware of at this point. The decals look good, but they do have some issues. They don't give any FS numbers or paint manufacturer numbers for the paint schemes, just generalized color descriptions, so you'll have to look elsewhere for exact color matches. Also, the sheet only has African and Asian air forces, no Latin American operators. Markings for Zimbabwe and Namibia are there, but no Venezuela or Bolivia.
I would think that the best chance for getting aftermarket K-8 decals would be if Aztec or even Caracal pops out a sheet, and I hope they consider doing so in the future.
