siesta3
Misawa's 14th Fighter Squadron will be returning to Iraq next month. In December 2002 they arrived at PSAB to replace the other Misawa squadron the 13FS and were extended in February 2003 and flew SEAD and later CAS missions during the Operation Iraqi Freedom. During that time they flew CAS with no Targetting Pods except using their HTS pods for defensive situational awareness. They return to region with CCIP Block 50 upgraded jets and Sniper Targetting Pods. Again the Air Force is sending a PACAF squadron back to the MiddleEast. I believe though that the 22nd Fighter Squadron from Spang had returned to the region earlier this year as the first active duty F-16CJ squadron to fly combat missions since 2003. siesta3
It was the Fightin' Hawks from the 23rd FS.Jeff Thanks for the correction Jeff... guess with the Block 40s going into CCIP the 50s will be sharing the load.
