WW2ace Posted January 24, 2007 Share Posted January 24, 2007 I worked F-4Ds and -Es from '80-'83 and do not recall seeing anything other than the long-tailed SUU-23s on the centerline station. The outboard pylons almost always carried 370 gal tanks. This is a setup you can't go wrong with. The pilots actually liked the external gunpod for ground attack because the wobble allowed them to hose a larger area. A neat detail is the gun gas deposits under the blast shield. Turned a very cool aqua/turquoise green, something like FS34325 or a fifties seafoam green. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
