This is a bit of a follow-up to the 747 drawings thread on this forum and my onw thread on Jet Modeling. I'm looking for drawings of propliners, jetliners, and some corporate aircraft. I've looked at Bob's Aircraft Documentation and he has some of what I'm looking for, but is there anybody who specializes in airliners?

My modeling interests run to large and often obscure planes in 1/72 scale, so I spend a lot of time looking for good plans for various planes . My conclusion is that stuff is just scattered everywhere. There are maybe a half-dozen or so decent websites, plus Bob's Aircraft Documentation is okay (his plans are hit-or-miss depending on the original source). I've had some success finding scale plans catering to the RC community. There are a couple of Yahoo Groups (Wings of Peace and Airliner Modeling Digest) that have some plan resources. There are some mailorder alternatives to Bob's - I've tried one and the plans I got were okay - again it's hit or miss.

What specific planes are you looking for?

I've ordered from Bob before and I've been happy overall and he has a few of what I'm looking for. I'm looking to the R/C route, my dad has been into R/C since the '50s. He is checking around the R/C world. He is also an architect so he has the machine that can enlarge the plans to 1/48th.

What aircraft? Kinda long...........

Presidential:

C-54

DC-6

3 types of Connies

707 (ID Models did a 48th KC-135)

747

89th AW:

757-200

BBJ (737-700 fuse w/ 737-800 wings & gear)

Gulfstream III, IV, & V

DC-9

Learjet (Testors)

UH-1N (Italeri?)

My unit, the 113th Wing, is made up of the 121st FS and the 201st AS. The 201st flies 737s and Astra Jets. So, I'd like to find plans for the Astra Jet too.

Nice list. For just about anything currently flying from Boeing, some useful information can be found here:

http://www.boeing.com/commercial/airports/plan_manuals.html

http://www.boeing.com/commercial/airports/3_view.html

These don't include fuselage cross sections, but there maybe something useful to you in all of that.

For the Constellation:

For the UH-1 (I'm not much of a helicopter guy, so no idea if these would be useful for the variant you want):

http://www.airwar.ru/other/draw/uh1.html

Maybe some others here: http://www.the-blueprints.com/index.php?bl...planes/heli-ag/

For the Gulfstream and Learjet, only thing I could come up with are two pretty crappy three-views (no idea which variants these are for):

http://www.suurland.com/blueprint_x.php?im...if&id=12509

http://www.suurland.com/blueprint_x.php?im...if&id=12514

There's probably better ones out there - I just didn't find them in my quick pass through my reference sites.

As usual, your mileage may vary with all plans, and with many things you find online it's hard to tell where it came from originally.

Hope this helps,

Bruce

Thanks for the links Bruce. I'll check them out later, no modeling getting done this weekend as I have an exam to study for. With the Gulfstreams I'm thinking of contacting the manufacturer. What the hell, right?

Collecting drawings is the easy part. After that I'll have to collect skills!! :)
