As mentioned it was painted in the field (captured or self-mixed paints) and when done so, they didn't paint the minutae back on top. Only the major stuff (fuel type, oil fill spouts, battery connectors, etc) were kept, all the other minor stuff was left off. Edited January 18, 2008 by Mark M. As for the silvering of the wing walk areas -- I've heard several places that JG54's planes didn't have them Mark, that could very well be the case, I kept the stencils to minimum for that very reason.
