Murph
I notice in Cleaver's build of the 48th version of this kit on Modeling Madness he says VF-123 had jets that had been fitted with wing fences and reinforced canopies. One "gotcha" in the instruction, they tell you to open up all the holes in the wing for ordnance, but when you get to the last page you find out the round holes didn't need to be opened if you're using the rocket armament. Murph
On a related note, I've seen three different versions of the VF-123 markings on this kit, which are correct? Regards, Murph
Gene K
P.S. as far as the Matchbox 4/5, I've done that one, and I think you're MUCH better off using the old Superscale resin rudder replacement(got a couple left) ... I resurrected an old itch to do a 1/72 F9F-5, so for starters looked at this old thread (had to change the header since ARC once again changes ISPs), and also Tommy's excellent conversion guide here. First question: Is there a source for the old Superscale (or other) replacement? Second: Is there a correct vac canopy available? Thanks, Gene K
