FredCC
Hi All, Despite the Yankee seat, can anyone helpme in pointing the main differences between USAF and US Navy Skyraiders? I have the ZM kit and would like to build it as a USAF Spad. On ZM website, they say that the USAF box (to be released!) will feature sprues for the USAF version... Dave Williams
The USAF Spads were ex-USN Spads, so there are few differences. Most, if not all, single seat USAF A-1s had solid wheel hubs. They also had a different tail wheel (which, like the Yankee seat, is actually in the box). Other than that, there were some antenna differences and the USAF Spads commonly carried some ordnance that their USN counterparts didn't.

afspret
I think, and don't quote me on this, but I think the area under the canopy behind the seat is different. I seem to remember there was some after market stuff that included this that came out about the time the Tamiya kits in the '90s.
Dave Williams
The area behind the seat has the Yankee seat extraction rocket. These parts are already in the 1/32 ZM kit.
FredCC
The easy solution for me would be to build the US Navy box right now and the USAF one when it's released... Thanks again.
