P-38 guy Posted November 14, 2012 Share Posted November 14, 2012 Got my 2 kits today. Thought I would pass on a couple of things that you might want to fix. The Plastic is from Academy the rest is Eduard. The resin, etched and decals look great. Love the option for the 459th FS. I have wanted to do that same one since I saw it in an old film clip. You can see more details for the kit on their site. The leading edge of the wings have fuel filler caps. The early Lightning had oil coolers in the leading edge of the wings so they should be filled. You will want to remove the fuel boost pumps from under the wings. They did not have them until the late model. For some reason Eduard included the spade control grips. I said something about this on their Facebook page but they never responded. This is wrong for early Lightning and you will still need to use the kit control wheel.
