jesTer
My first military model kit of the year. Built OOB. I made quite a lot of tiny mistakes and got sloppy with the glosscoat but otherwise, quite a simple build. The thing is very big in real-life! More details and photos on my site. Rich in name only
Looks good! How did you do the propeller hub and spinner? What paint did you use for the bottom? I have a 1/48th in work--think I'll stick with the one overall color option ('cept the hub).
jesTer
Looks good! How did you do the propeller hub and spinner? What paint did you use for the bottom? I have a 1/48th in work--think I'll stick with the one overall color option ('cept the hub). The hub and spinner was first painted black grey. Then I handpainted steel over the hub. The tips of spinners were handpainted deep yellow over foundation white. These were all Vallejo paints. The bottom is supposed to be FS36176 which I don't have a paint for. So it's just a dark grey I have that I lightened by guesstimate based on the photos I see online. HTH
Rich in name only
Good job! I just put another coat on mine and note that, comparing with your photos, I should have put another part on before painting. Hoped to have mine ready by tomorrow morning but not quite there I think---maybe. Like your detailing too---good relief and shading without dominating.
