Jure Miljevic Posted May 29, 2016 Share Posted May 29, 2016 IIRC some ten or fifteen years ago one of future improved Grippen propositions included no vertical tail at all. Reasoning behind that was that the plane is flown by wire anyway and dispensing with vertical tail would lower weight and reduce drag.
