peter havriluk
I've looked at reviews, and I've found no specific comment as to whether this model is in fact 1/48 scale. Heller had sold a similar model (same molds, maybe?) as 1/50 scale. Does anyone have an idea about the origin of SMER's design? I've ordered one of these online, and once in hand it would be easy enough to measure, but my curiosity is getting the better of me. I think I've answered one of my own questions. I see that there's other L-4 packagings made by SMER identified as 1/50. Can't see them offering a 1/48 and a 1/50 scale model from different molds. Thanks, folks. DonSS3
This may be worth a look. It seems to show the Smer and Heller kits being from the same 1/50 molds: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/163423-sm-r-0822-piper-l4-cub
peter havriluk
I think that's the most rational interpretation. At any rate, I'm happy to have it. It will keep my Norseman company on the shelf of utility and liason aircraft.
