Gator52
Apparently 85-0028 was known as "Ark-La-Taz" while stationed at Barksdale in the late 80s/early 90s...would love to find a photo of the nose art. Thanks Chris
andyf117
85-0028 appears in a photo in Osprey Superbase 21 published in 1991 - mentioned specifically in the caption as not having nose art:
Gator52
Thanks for the info...that narrows it down! I rechecked the single source I have connecting the name & tail number (a jet/name summary I found on Facebook several months ago), and think there are a few possibilities: 1) the nose art was added after publication of the Superbase book, or possibly removed prior to that photo 2) the source I have is wrong, and Ark La Taz was on a different jet (perhaps 86-0028, since some "last 4" numbers were reused on both FY85 & FY86 Extenders) 3) similar to above, 85-0028 could be misidentified in Superbase book, since numbers aren't clearly visible (at least to me) in the photo 4) Ark La Taz was one of those jets with a name but no associated art I appreciate the help- Chris
