Yarm6
Hi Everyone, Does anyone have any suggestions (color and brand) for painting the burner cans on a F/A-18? I was thinking an Exhaust or burnt iron color Model Master Metalizer? I generally can only stay in the Tamiya-Model Master lines as that’s what I can get ay my LHS. Although the cans look sort of “goldish†in pictures. Also, does any one have a suggestion for the metal rings on the fuselage right next to the burner cans? Hasegawa only suggests “silverâ€. Thanks in advance for any help. Dave
jacobp51
I use the buffing Model Master Titanium for the cans. The color is spot on IMHO, and since you can buff the paint, you can acquire the right amount of shine you want.
Yarm6
Great, thanks for the info! Does anybody have any painting suggestions for the "silver" section between the cans and the grey of the fuselage? Thanks again!
Pete "Pig" Fleischmann
Great, thanks for the info! Does anybody have any painting suggestions for the "silver" section between the cans and the grey of the fuselage? Thanks again! I used Model Master jet exhaust enamel on the cans, and lightened it a bit with silver for the ring. An oil wash and some dry brushing finished them off. http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i218/wil...os/100_3924.jpg HTH Pig Edited May 26, 2006 by Pete "Pig" Fleischmann
