Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
Trying to figure out which way to lean on this. Had just gotten used to several general rules of thumb for GSB aircraft, such as the wells etc being painted the same blue as the airframe, as in the late WW2 planes...but was this practice not used with F9F's in the same blue scheme? Detail & Scale claims chromate wells with blue struts, but then you never know if they're using photos of a one-off plane, restored, or whatever for their sources. Confirm? P47ACE503
Looking through my books of real, not restored F9F's, I see that all appear to have the wells painted chromate green or interior green and the struts dark blue. Thats the way I have painted my four. Hope this helps. Bill
Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
Yep, it does reassure. I tried all mine (Detail & Scale, Ginter, In Action) but just couldn't make out anything with the shadows. My eternal thanks!
