  1. Hi All, About to start the Trunpeter 1/48 Mig-15 and need any info you might have about Yevgeni Pepelyayev, his aircraft etc'. Is he the jet age top ace? Not sure I have a complete picture as I want. In this case, your personal views and conclussions are more than very welcome. Thanks, J.
  2. This is exactly what i am saying to myself for two months now. That what you get for thinking "a bit later". I will follow the leads above and see what i cab find, J
  3. Hi Guys, In an effort to find some decals for that plane i learned that: 1- There are no more Pyn-Up Decals for her. I can't find it nowhere, not even on E-bay  . 2- Superscale is the only set i have found. Its ok but the port nose (hull) art is lacking shades and has some wrong colors. The starboard art is great. 3- The kit provides better port side art. This brings out 2 questions: 1- How are Academy decals, in particular the one i need? 2- Are there any other decals for this one i don't know about? * If someone can help me get my hands on a Pyn-Up sheet or leftover art (ther
  4. Hi All, I am now looking at both Aeromaster decal sheets for Korean war B-29's in 1/72. I know that Dragon Lady, Atomic Tom and Southern Comfort probably didn't live long enough for the anti search light scheme, but what about the planes on B-29's Over Korea Part 1? Cant find any clear info on any of them... (and with a saber and P-47N on the bench i need to cut on the NMF+conserve the Alclad 2 :( ) Thanks in advance, Jonathan
  5. Humcrol matt coat works 100% for me. Note that theres a "Coat" and a "Varnish", the later is not recommended i am told. About future, you'll want to read this: http://www.swannysmodels.com/TheCompleteFuture.html There are lots of other usefull stuff there also. J.
  6. I'm not realy sure i understood your question exactly but here goes: If you use gloss paints on your model it should save you the gloss coating before decals and weahering. After you spray it with a matt coat every thing will tone down as before. Because military aircraft are usualy matt and because i find matt paint more forgiving when used i usualy paint matt and coat with future. I even got good results giving a hellcat a glossy sea blue look that way. if you feel nervous about attempting this for the first time on a "hugh profile" model - don't do it. Feeling comfortable tends to elim
  7. Thanks Andre, I will probably use 4 CBU's and 6 GP's as jay told me. 4 CBU's on inner MER's. J.
  8. Thanks Jay, That's exactly what i was hoping to hear because GP's seems to be the only thing Hasegawa gives enough of.
  9. I have the Italery A-6E and a Hasegawa 1/72 GP bomb set. How can i mix them for a cool looking load out (i generaly do WWII 1/48 birds). J.
  10. Where would be the best place to get plastic strip/rod/tube/sheet online? does'nt have to be evergreen... J.
  11. Why not try an oven cleaner .Kinda hard to control compared to a rag but you can leave it or use lots of it with no fear of plastic damage .
  12. Generaly , you will need to find out their IP # which isn't so hard to find but then you will need to track down the IP and to get to the ISP of the user and then , after some work oyu'll be able to find who it is . IRAA did just that .Only one problem - you will not get very far without a court order .And there might be some tech problems i am missing .
  13. I seccond the Smurf dude - oven cleaner .
