I'm not looking to pick a fight with anyone on this subject. I can only say my opinion on why I won't be getting the shot. I already have enough health issues from my military service that cause me to be unemployable. I'm just not willing to take the chance and add to my issues and be an even bigger burden on my family.

I'm finished commenting on this subject.

    Steve

I know 2 Vietnam Vets that died from Agent Orange exposure during their time in the USAF during the Vietnam era.   This is why I fully understand and respect your choice in this matter.

To get herd immunity we need about 65 or 70%...not 100% so I remain hopeful.

Maybe if those "experts" stop putting out contradictory information and stop being wrong all the time more people will listen to what they have to say.

This is the saddest part of all this.  The mismanagement by leaders and experts.  This virus should not have been allowed to spread beyond Wuhan and should have at least been contained to China.  All international travel should have been denied to anyone holding a Chinese passport.  Sure travel from China was restricted by some countries, but Chinese citizens simply flew from China to Thailand then flew to the US etc to get around the travel restrictions.

Cloth masks were worn for the 1918 flu but so some odd reason masks were discouraged for this virus that was obviously spread through the air like a flu.  Once this virus began to spread.....the word should have gone out to all grandmothers and avid sewers to make masks by the millions for their family and friends to protect the ones they love.  This is what would have been done during WW2....mobilize the local populations to fight this virus from the beginning at the grassroots level.

All citizens worldwide should have been encouraged to wear a cloth mask back in Feb 2020.  Cloth masks were not encouraged until this virus began to get totally out of control in some areas on this planet (Italy, New York etc).

Also, the survival rate for the virus is 98.7% and that's without a vaccine being readily available, doesn't sound so deadly to me.

I do 100% respect each persons choice to not get the covid-19 vaccine.  I wish they would for the sake of herd immunity, but I know many won't.

I doubt this nugget of information I quoted above is accurate.  As of today 27,500,000 Americans have been tested and infected with covid-19 and 481,000 Americans have died.  That is a death rate of 1.74%.  Now if every single American had already been infected with covid-19 then 481,000 dead Americans would match your 1.74% death rate nugget of information perfectly.  But have every single American been infected so far?  I seriously doubt every single American has been infected with Covid-19 at this point.

Now you can dance around the number that 481,000 dead is fake news etc and that many of those people died of the flu etc.  But I am unaware of a flu season that saw the hospitals worldwide overwhelmed like we have seen in the past year.  If this is a hoax, then it is very well done to include every country worldwide....congrats to who ever created such a successful hoax.

I have a co-worker that has had a double lung transplant.  Due to this he is unable to take the vaccine.  I will get the Covid-19 vaccine not just to protect myself, I will get it to protect him.  All of his co-workers will get the vaccine to try our best to keep him safe.

I do expect that international travel will be denied to anyone that isn't 100% up to date on the annual Covid-19 vaccinations.  Currently you need a yellow fever injection or you are not permitted to travel to Africa.  I suspect Covid-19 will be the same situation with annual vaccines to protect against the latest Covid-19 variants.

Heck there is a surprisingly high % of people in longterm care homes in Canada that are not getting the Covid-19 vaccine by choice and 74% of all Covid-19 deaths in Canada were in longterm care homes.

AIDS came out around 1980 and the world has never been the same.  We will never go back to the way it was before Covid-19.  This new reality is here to stay.  Masks are a new reality for those that choose to wear them.

I do 100% respect each persons choice to not get the covid-19 vaccine.  I wish they would for the sake of herd immunity, but I know many won't.

No, and have no intention on getting one. Don't get flu shots either.

I don't think you are alone....there are plenty of people not getting this vaccine.  C-19 will be with us forever as it changes and keeps coming back as a new variant.

I have been faithfully wearing a mask for 1 year and have not had a cold or the flu in that time.  I usually get a cold every 6 weeks....and I get the flu every few years.  I'm understanding the true value of wearing a mask.  It is a pain to wear a mask, but it is nice not getting a cold.

  5. which post?

    this one?

I have the Academy/Minicraft 1/48 F-111C Aardvark kit, and the kit decals are all cracked & missing chunks.

I want to do the kit in more recent markings, and I can't get replacement decals from Academy in South Korea.

I was hoping that someone had the Model Alliance Decals World Airpower Update # 2 - sheet MA48169, and could spare the F-111C decals from it.

I am in Florida, and I do not have Paypal, but I could trade something from the list below for those decals.
PM me or email me direct at lengesath(AT)cox(DOT)net to discuss.

Not always, especially if I put in a Hyperlink to a Scalemates page, showing the item I was selling or looking for. And not every link would fail.

This is weird as heck....it seems to be an annoyingly elusive problem.

In my case, I was replacing all my test with an updated version that I created in Notepad. After I put it in the post, I went back and added the formatting (Bold, Italics, Strikethrough, etc). When I tried to save it, I got the failure. I found I could only edit a few lines at a time, save them, then go back & edit some more lines. A REAL PITA. :bandhead2:

Did it post ok with just the raw text from notepad?

  8. Regarding original issue....is it possible to get more specific info?

Was the text typed in or copied from another program?  which program...word etc?

    Size and type of images?

How were the text and images posted?  One block of text then images below of text then image, then text...then image etc?

    What operating system you using?

There are posting limits regarding image size etc  1000 wide and 750 high that might cause problems and there are image file size limits that can cause problems.

I am not having any luck replicating this problem.  The admin back end settings are limited but it is possible it is one of those settings.

Hi Steve, I am running into a different problem, but thought I could post it here. I am getting the following error:

    xmRP2vd.jpg

    This happens when:

    - I am *not* logged into ARC forums and I am trying to view a thread that has images in it. This does not happen when I am logged in, or I am trying to view a thread that has no pictures.

    - Happens in only on my MacOS, when on Safari (MacOS with Chrome  works ok).

    - No issues when viewing on my iPhone.

Once I hit close, I can proceed without problems. Any ideas what the issue might be?

Wow...this is a stumper.  Anyone else encounter this?

  11. Ok....I have some free time of sorts this sunday afternoon.  I'm curious is the text in question in the above posts was coming from a word Doc etc or from Notepad?  Notepad strips out all formatting so it is jsut the clean text.

Or were you guys trying to type text directly into the post here on the forums?

  12. F-14 GB forum is set up....PM me if you need anything further.

PM me through the forums is better than e-mailing me.

I have added Shawn (phantom) as a moderator because he is the wise man on the hill here on ARC.

  13. My only hope with 2021 is that enough people will be vaccinated to dramatically lower or stop the deaths related to covid.  At this point I can not imagine an end to this.

On a more cheery note.....I did have a nice 8oz rum and eggnog to bring in the new year.  :woot.gif:

I asked one guy what he planned to drink on New Years Eve and he said..."I'm not much of a drinker....I'm more of a herbalist."

all you gotta do is to go to the web page Hyperscale to realize just how nice this web site is! No crazy (and unwanted) adds to keep your fingers busy.

    Thank You

My goal is to earn an income from youtube and then I can remove all ads from ARC, but that will take 3 or 4 years.

    Steve,

Good to have you back! You were missed. Hope all goes well with your PC surgery.

Where do you drive the tour bus? In August of '18 SWMBO and I took a cruise to Alaska and on the last port of call was Vancouver and being an avid gardener she wanted to see the Bouchard Gardens and took a tour bus there that also ran a quick site seeing route through the city.

    Cheers

Great to see ya back, like Cajun21, we enjoyed our Vancouver tour.

Do you work for a specific Cruise company? or is it luck of the draw?

    @Cajun21

    Which ship were you on?

I worked for a limo company driving one of their black buses for cruise ships visiting Victoria, BC.  I did a variety of tours off a number of the Alaska cruise ships in the past few years.

If you are an Aussie that toured British Columbia and started your tour in Victoria, BC in the past few years, then there's a really good chance I was the bus driver that drove you to your hotel in Victoria from the Airport.

    It was a fun job.

I must admit I was rather concerned back in February as Covid was beginning to make it's way across North America.  The idea of doing a bus tour with an unknown number of people possibly infected with Covid was not appealing.  I was somewhat relieved when I learned on Feb 26 that the cruise ship season for 2020 was cancelled.

I was baffled beyond belief when there were people boarding cruise ships in early March.....I knew that couldn't end well and those few ships were hit very hard by Covid.

2020 has been a pretty tragic year....I suspect 2021 is going to be equally tragic.  Thankfully Vancouver island only has 11 active cases among 900,000 people.  Living on an island does give some isolation from Covid.  But I wear a mask, I really can't risk getting sick.

  16. Sorry it took so long.

But between a Covid scare at the computer store I use and a lack of funds on my part due to the loss of one of my jobs (driving a tour bus for cruise ship passengers).  I was left scrambling to find a solution.  Then I remembered an old low hour custom built computer from 10 years ago that had some blown capacitors on one of it's video cards.  I had stored away the computer with plans of fixing it one day and forgot about it.  The machine runs quite well but is limited to only 2 monitors instead of 4 that I usually run, but it is quite usable and runs excellent.  My ideal set up is 3 monitors to work on ARC and a 4th monitor to play movies etc to keep amused while I do ARC updates.   In the coming weeks I will solder some new capacitors into the damaged video card and see if I can get it to run more than 2 monitors.  With luck the next update on Friday will be the normal size.

I'm still loading programs and transferring files from my old machine to this "new" machine, but so far so good.

    Thanks for your patience.
