I'm going to have a crack at this kit, however my project requires some more ammuntition for the kit guns, anyone not using theirs? I can pay etc. Greg
  2. Just thought I'd pipe up here. The ARH is having some issues, mainly due to the normal problems of operating European equipment (funnily enough, designed for Europe) in the Australian climate - it is hot and to operate at the specified performance levels, you need lots of power. New engines are currently being discussed. The other big problem is the flight manual, which hasn't yet been published, which means that certification is an issue. Both of these will be fixed in time as Jon mentioned, but the biggest issue (from an operational standpoint) is that the a/c lacks an APU, which means t
  3. "keep in mind F-15Es are equipped with a "receptable" SUPERS as with smaller brother HORNETS are probe equipped and our current B707 tankers and future A33Os are fitted with drogue and baskets not booms." Shadowy One, the A330's (KC-30 as they will be known in-service, have both drogue and the centreline boom so our AEW&C, MMA, JSF, LIF, Hornets and F-111's can all be refuelled.
  4. Apparently there was an old Revell boxing with a VX-9 option, does anyone have them?

    1/35 C-130H!!!

Look here: http://www.defencemodels.com.au/Projects/Hercules130H.asp The fuselage was built around PVC 110mm plastic plumber's pipe!
  6. Hmmmmm, Thanks for the pics. Shiny looks nice, but what a bugger to paint (replicate)! The Harrier would be nice to see as well. Greg
  7. Is there a FS for the current USAF and USMC V-22 (correct designation not known!)? It looks pearlescent (sp), a just plain weird! Thanks

    B-2 Question

    Wow, long heartbeat!
  10. Ray, That is pretty much it. They are comparatively expensive to maintain as well. The bottom line is the ADF (approx 70k bodies) has the following rotary wing fleets in service or being introduced: UH-1 Kiowa (OH-58A) Blackhawk Chinook Squirrell Seahawk Sea Sprite Sea King Tiger MRH-90 Great for modellers, but a training liability nightmare (aircrew and maintainers). With the consolidation, it will be: MRH-90 Chinook Tiger Sea Hawk (may be replaced by MRH-90) Sea Sprite (may never enter service) Unidentified trainer (possibly civil lease) Ideally, we will only operate th
  11. Well, the Australian Army has come to its senses and has signed up to replace the Blackhawk fleet (S-70A-9) with the MRH-90, a Eurocopter NH-90 derivative, a total of 48 will be procured. Initially on 12 were being bought to replace our UH-1Hs, but this has now expanded.
  12. Just a cheap shot from the cheap seats. I built the ICM kit a couple of years ago. My model appears on Page 2 of the Spitfire Gallery. Here is an excerpt of the text: "Thanks to research by Peter Malone, I was able to fit this model with four 20mm cannon, which it carried, albeit briefly, in Morotai. Apparently it flew “like a busâ€, so this configuration was short-lived. All Mk VIII were fitted with the “Câ€, or universal wing (hence no suffix) and it appears that someone wanted to experiment with four cannon in place of the more usual mixed machine-gun/ cannon armament. 13. Tom hunted down, acquired and sent a kit for me from CONUS to Australia in under three days. Kudos for going WAY out of his way to help a fellow ARCer!
  14. MH-53? I know there is a lot to modify, but now we have scans of the sprues, does anyone have further detail of what to omit/add (less the radar/refuelling)?

    2 seat F-22?

    Sounds likely - thanks!

    2 seat F-22?

Under the original plan, was the aircraft to be lengthened, or was the second pit just added to the rear of the current seat (a la F-16B and F/A-18B)? Thanks
  17. Having lost track of where the F-35 is at the moment, is the current plan for the navy variant (designation?) to have folding wings? Are there pics of the wingfold? Is this still a "paper" plane? Thanks, Greg
  18. I'm looking to start my Tamiya 1/32 Viper. I have the NSI intake and exhausts from the T-bird kit and am thinking about a RSAF or UAE bird. Do both use the NSI and do the latest (E? Block 60? "Desert Falcon") have a bulged fin base, or are my eyes playing tricks on me? Thanks Greg
  19. Needed some 1/32 Viper bits, Erick assisted very quickly and as a "just glad to have helped out." Thanks Erick!
  20. I know its a long shot, but I'm after F17 (forward u/c bay), and, if you can spare it, the nose leg (nice to have, parts F1, F2, F6, F8, F9, F58 and leg itself). To explain, I purchased the intake and exhaust sprues for a Block x2 from R10 and would like to make a start on my Block 52. Worth a try. Thanks, Greg
  21. Can anyone help, mainly the intake and exhaust. Thanks
  22. How much of this kit should have common parts with a MH-53J/M?
