Painting and Sanding
90 Degree bank=Me fly A380 replied to 90 Degree bank=Me fly A380's topic in Tools 'n' Tips
Another question, how do you fill and sand an airliner's engine considering that it needs to be painted before assembly? -
Hi, I'm new to modelling and I have ruined 3 models already in the painting and sanding stage. Firstly I would like to ask how to tell if the filling has been sanded till it is thin enough for its first coat of paint. Secondly I would also like to know whether I should use enamel or acrylic paint to apply the first layer of paint to the fuselage (to hide all the filling and original colour of the model).

1/144 Air Canada A340

Great Job! Not to criticise but to improve accuracy (if someone has brought this up let me know because I skipped to the last page). When the A340 has its flaps down, the ailerons also drop to increase the total lift. I know what I'm taling about because I've been on the A330/40 countless numbers of times. *If you want here is an image if you wish to correct this issue* http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view...;sigb=134vrcqr5 -
Strangely enough I cant seem to remove the paint

Thanks David (MGoy). So sparying further away from the model will fix the problem?

Hi I have 2 problems on painting (spray painting). 1) How do I deal with air bubbles after painting the model? 2) How do I deal with the droplets which form on the underside of the model as I wait for it to dry?

thanks a ton! another problem I have is the air bubbles after spraying it on. When the paint dries it looks like the part submerged into the sea. One last question (plz bear with me) how do I tell if it is smooth enough? -
Hi guys Im new here and Im currently working on my first model. Although this may sound obvious to some people but xcuse my thick mind. After filing and sanding, I spray painted a coat of white paint but it doesnt seem to cover the putty. How can I deal with this? (Im usin Tamiya white putty and pure white spray paint) Am I missing a step or did I not sand enough? :P
