  1. Morning everyone. This is more of an inquiry to see what others think. Has anyone built this particular model? If so, what are your thoughts? it is my understanding that this is a start if you desire to convert it into a more modern MH-6 using CMK conversion kits, but after doing some searching, figured I would ask on here to see what others thought. Thank you for your time.
  2. That was going to be what I was going to add to the GB.
  3. Went ahead with the wide chord tail. I believe the model is on clearance at Michael's down the street from my house so if need be I can pick up another one.... or save some pennies and pick up one by Eduard's. I also went ahead and attached the wings plus the dorsal hump and canopy.
  4. Going with a natural metal finish, eas planning on doing the red invasion stripes... just to see if I can do it.
  5. This is why I am debating on the wide chord tail. These two pictures of a late build PF's. Top one from the Mig-21 Osprey book, the bottom image is from Squadron Signal part 1 walk around. Go figure! :o/>
  6. Sub Assemblies: Which one to use:
  7. Sub assemblies coming along faster than I expected. Such a difference in seat height with the Aerobonus seat vs. the kit seat. Look's like the pilot is a midget, even when I angled the cockpit to raise it.
  8. Thanks for the info on this. Since I am building from the Revell kit of the Mig-21, didn't want to go overboard on the extras. I will go ahead and us the supplied decals.
  9. Everyone, I've noticed that on the fighters and bombers for Soviet aircraft, that the numbers are Red or in some cases blue. At anytime were they any other color such as Yellow, or is that only with aircraft in a camo scheme?
  10. Thanks for the compliment LancerR21. Unfortunately, I am going to have to repaint it, since this kit doesn't have decals for the side console.
  11. I am in the process of building Revell's Mig-21PF for a work competition. Needs to be completed by end of September. Currently have the cockpit completed, which is Aerobonus Mig-21PFM pilot provided by Pep from here, thank you. Enjoy.
  12. It is my understanding that the Russians copied the AIM-9B. Would this also mean that the launch rails should be similar? I am inquiring since I am planning to use the F-86 AIM 9's from the Academy kit on my Revell Mig-21PF build. Since the mold is so dated, I wanted to ask around while I did some more research and see, especially from those who have built their fair share of Mig-21's.
  13. Thanks for the info. Very much appreciated.
  14. Classic foot in mouth moment, looks like Hasegawa's Weapon Set E might have the sniper pod and HTS pod in the configuration needed.
  15. YES! I was having a hard time remembering. I've seen the Sniper pod on the right side and I believe the HTS moved to the left, or am I wrong in that? As for the paint scheme, I believe I figured that out as the new Have Glass paint scheme. Just need to find out which jets are using it.
  16. I've noticed that some of images I've seen of the latest version of the F-16C, the pods near the front of the intake are different in placement when compared to the F-16CG/CJ. I've looked and I am not finding an upgrade to this standard, is there one available? Or am I just mistaken? Also, is the F-16 moving to paint scheme more like the F-35?
  17. Done! Now for a bit of rest and then on to my Revell Mig-21 build challenge. Enjoy.
  18. Was debating on going that route. The version I am building ia using a different seat, but I am going to double check my references and see how much is visible. May do that if nable to fnd just the pilot.
  19. Currently looking for a MIG-21 pilot in the seated position in 1/48 scale. Wanted to see if anyone on the forum had one they wanted to sell before I try to make due with a pilot with the KM-1 seat. PM me for cost plus shipping, thank you.
