    Congratulations,

I have a couple of sets on pre order from the 48ers as I'm very impressed with what I've seen so far. I'd like to offer a couple of suggestions if I may. The Italeri 1/48 Mirage F.1 could use some help such as the RP-35 drop tanks  .There's only one in the kit and a lot of load outs require two. Another suggestion would be the Sycomor Pod used by Iraq and Qatar as well as the pylon used for Exocet carriage.

The best of luck with your venture.

How about main landing gear bays for the Italeri Marage F-1.

Has Academy released the 1/144 B-52H new tool kit yet?  On the SCM entry, I see one person has it in his stash, however I can't find it anywhere, even for pre-order at the usual online Japanese hobby sites.

Over on Brit modeler, there is an announcement from Homebee that GWH is releasing a B-52H in the same scale.  Pictures of the parts layout are shown. Is's most likely a  joint effort with Academy.

When I spoke with one of the girls at the Kinetic stand at last year's Scale Model World, I suggested a retooled F-16 family to Kinetic's Gold standard...  We can always hope, can't we?

I emailed  Raymond  with the same suggestion some time ago. I don't recall if he responded. So other people are thinking along the same lines as you. Yes, we can hope!

  4. Since  Minibase has stated that they would like to release more  Sukhoi subjects, I would

    Like to suggest the following.

    Su-15 Flagon.

    Su-24 Fencer.

    Su- 17/22 Fitter.

    Su-34 Fullback.

    Su-70 Okhotnik.

  5. I would like to wish Minibase the best of success on the launch of their first kit!

She certainly looks like a winner!!! I hope this is the first of  a long line of interesting subjects to come!

Sorry to be That Guy who necros old threads (annoys me, too), but while doing some research for my L4823 build, ran across these postings, and I have to say this is probably THE most epic thread I've ever read. 😃 It has *everything*--drama, suspense, malfeasance, accusations, arguments, insults; there are treatises on the model making business including kit design, molding, and marketing; in-depth panel line dissection and detailed analyses of Su-35 shape; rivet counting on par with the best in the hobby; detailed info about mold injection processes; I learned about post-Soviet Russian military aircraft industry including materials, construction, and overall strategic plans; I learned about a few aftermarket goodies I should buy for my build (Amigo nozzles and Galaxy masking set--and one to avoid, specifically); there was a debate about the role of aftermarket in the hobby; ARC peeps got into it with the guy who actually helped design the kit and he gave it right back; there are detailed post-mortems and critiques of the kit once it was released; and all through this madness, Gabor provided continuous insight into the process of working with a manufacturer to design a kit, including all the pitfalls, problems, gotchas, and negotiations that are part thereof all while defending himself against pretty much everyone.

AND, if none of that were enough, the thread basically ends with a US news reporter registering an ARC account to fact-check a post made months ago lol. How many times does THAT happen in the modeling world?

Well done, everyone, well done. All of this will make my build better.

    Word.

    Ha!

This is a great topic.  I build for fun and stress relief.  I don't build for competition and like @phantom said above 90% of people who see my models, wont know that it's inaccurate because of a few wrong parts.  I think my biggest problem is Modeler ADD or MADD, I'll see a model or aircraft IRL and be like "hey I want to build one of those", I'll go buy the kit and decals if necessary, then tomorrow it's on to something else.  Perfect example yesterday, I watched a USNTPS T-38 taxiout and the back seater had his arms hanging out like Reedoaks recent pilot.  In my mind, hmm i can get a Wolfpack T-38, Reedoaks Pilot and USNTPS decals and I could build one of those.  Who knows what will spark my MADD.... ooohhh look its an F-35....www.spru.....  🙂

    I feel your pain. 😔
