  1. Hi everybody, trying to finish a kit this year. Most important learning aspect will be: patience. Lets start with the 1/48 J35F/J Draken. I'm planning to use the Aires cockpit set (fits perfectly), Eduard interior and exterior sets, and some small details from topstudio....who? Yes, topstudio! They provide detail sets for 1/12 - 1/24 bikes and car kits but I discovered that some of the electric connectors (see picture) can save alot of work (more on that later). I hope I can provide regular updates. I'm not the 'modelling before, modelling after, modelling all the evening long' type o
  2. Hi everybody, I just started with the Draken hoping to finally finish a model in 2009 I searched on the forum for some info and reviews and I found this thread. Here is a picture of the aires cockpit. I'll start a new thread on the in progress part. I'm currently working on the wheelbays using the eduard set and some nice things from topstudio. Cheers! 4. Hi everybody, just a few more weeks to go and it is drinking time . I'm currently making a list of goodies I'd like to buy and just like the years before, I always buy the glass paint jars, 10 for a fiver. Unfortunatly, I don't know who the retailer is. Does anyone know the retailer? They have lots of tools for sale and they are always between the halls. Anyone? Cheers! Laurens
  5. Good to hear that Vallejo is the same stuff. I have a few bottles of their normal paint. I'll try to find some of their airbrush colors! Kind regards! Laurens

Hi everybody, the CE sheet of the A-7E 1:32 scale (navy), is that a early or a late A7? Kind regards Laurens
  11. Thank you for the reply! I think I'll stick to the Eduard set for the hasegawa . I just like to build a nice chopper for a change and the Apache should build up into a nice model I think. I'll have a look in the bookshelves of a few good friends of mine, I think they should have a few references! Do you happen to know if the Hellenic version had some nive colour shemes? I know the japanese have a very cool camou Cheers! Laurens
  12. Hi everybody, I'm looking for some reference pictures of the Greek or Japanese Longbows. Does anyone have some good references on the internet? Btw: is the Aires tub any good or is it worthwhile to just use the Eduard set? Kind regards Laurens
  13. It would also mean that if I need to design a canopy for a newly produced kit, I could not even make a correct one because someone else made a perfect copy of the 1:1 original. :D So casting a copy, make a few changes, and you're done I think. You can't patent 'regular' shapes if I remember correctly. Btw: how is it possible to check and to prove? I remember a few cases where a train company copied a specific train including the errors of another company. I think that specific 'copying' company, lost the case. Well, changing a few details would do the trick I think. You only used the basi
  14. Ok, time to sell my Su33 and Su35/37 set. :D Anyone interested before I put it on ebay? Cheers! Laurens :D
  15. Hi everybody, any information about this specific aircraft? I'd like to build this one with 10 120's but I'm not sure if any squadron actually used this configuration. Hope you can help!! :D Cheers! Laurens
  16. Hi everybody, like I mentioned in the Su30 posting, Ã'm currently building my last model before the 'Living Apart Together' life is over. (march 2008) I have a few questions on the way: - Did someone use the Aires pit? Is it just me or are the parts to small? Especially the backplate of the cockpit? Hope to hear from you and I'll try to update this thread more frequently than the su thread. B) Cheers! Laurens
  17. Owh no! More flankers!! I still have to finish the first one. It's on the pile now waiting to be finished somewhere in 2009. To many other nice things to do and build in 2008 :D Ok, so the shape of the different incorrect parts look ok now, but to what price? > 125 euros? Well, I think I'll skip that one. Especially when everybody is going to update every single bit of detail.......pfff, no way dudes!! I stashed everything that I have in my home in boxes and plan to build a single F18C of academy 1:32 just before I move in into my girlfriends house. Should be a nice '

  20. Hi everybody, I've restarted on the construction of the auxiliary power unit of the 104S. I have the pictures of the verlinden book and the ones on the ARC walkarounds. Unfortunately they are nog 100% clear on the location of all the pipes, rigs and rivets. Does someone have detailed shots of the inside of the auxiliary power unit? I hope you can help me. Kind regards Laurens
  21. Hi everybody, I'm currently working on a F-104S and using the CE conversion set. The instructions are not very clear on the missile and launcher assembly so I'd like to check these against pictures of the 104S with a few missiles under the belly. Hope you can help! Cheers! Laurens

  23. Hi everybody, I'm working on a F104S using the Cutting Edge set but instead of using the intakes of the set, I'd like to try to rescribe the original ones (they just fit and look better. Can someone help me with a detailed picture of the side of the intake with the rectangular shaped panel? Cheers and thanks!! Laurens
