  1. and what is the tool used to cut the wingspan?links, images of tool, appreciated.
  2. hi, who sells in europe the KMC wing fold sets for the avenger and helldiver 1/48 scale kits?
  3. the above replies to my last post are what i was looking for.I have Klear "there is no future or Klear in switzerland" got it from the UK through a friend.Gloss is available here.Since this is my first gloss finish aircraft ever "all my previous WW2 work was flattened in the end except for the natural metal airplanes" i wanted to understand the argument in favour of one Future and two Gloss. I was always using future or equivalent for the clear parts only.In this case beeing a late war Hellcat MM dark sea blue with white decals i can decide one or the other before and after applying the decals
  4. i mean can i use a gloss coat instead of future before decalling and what is the difference? I will then seal with another gloss coat since its a Hellcat late war.
  5. hello, I am about to finish my first HOBBY BOSS kit a Hellcat late war over all dark sea blue gloss and i am trying to make up my mind,do i future or do i gloss before applying the decals and then seal again? what are the advantages and dissadvantages either way? the objective as usual is to avoid silvering and blending the decals to the surfaces.
  6. the illustrated boxes on display are way out dated, the graphics and proportions just dont look right to me.wonder what the decals must be like.
  7. hi, i was hunting on ebay and suddenly i come up against a wide range of lindberg models options.I never ever saw one in my life anywhere in the world nor does anyone discuss or display them here. What is your experience with this brand ?
  8. hello, Revell has launched some acrylic luminous colors such as orange red and yellow. Are these the same as the insignia color enamel range from MM?
  9. i can handle that,i've stretched a lot for various reasons but i forgot this option. In the past i used to buy the metal rods.
  10. easy and it certainly cost nothing trying.thanks for giving my brain a nudge.
  11. hi, i am working on an Academy P38 J model and i would like to know how to improvise and make the antennas.I saw many in the gallery and would like to add this detail.
  12. i dont want to coat the whole airplane with a spray of future because i dont want to alter the original BM look.IE not a museum show case. The rest of your comment is clear and is also a damage free method.
  13. SCVROBESON hi,,thanks for your interest, i am now working and painting an Academy P38 J with Gunze super fine silver.I have primed with Mr 1000 white first and now airbrushing the B M finish. From what i understand above apply a dab of future under each decal area and then start with sol and set "mine from gunze".please correct.
  14. any oven cleaner will do,leave it in the foam for half a day and then scrub under a tap with a toubrush or similar. the longer the model has been painted the longer you have to leave the cleaner working.
  15. but what about the areas where you need to apply the sol sets to set the bigger decals into the curved areas such as panels rivets corners etc? do i apply all 3 liquids?
  16. i dont have xf16 flat aluminium from tamiya or similar.is magnesium the same color ? and if not can i simply flatten standard aluminium from tamiya,MM or Valejo which i have? i am thinking of painting the inner face of the wheels with same. Another way of putting my question is what is the closest color to flat aluminium from the metal range usually available.i have aluminium ,magnesium ,titanium and steel.
  17. i am using basically the sol and set solutions from gunze and i have Klear too which i use for all the clear parts.you mean first apply the Klear to the area and let dry then apply the sol and set solution when applying the decal? beeing bare metal finish no sealing follows since i wont be applying a satin flat or gloss finish.
  18. hi, this is my first natural metal paint aircraft in years and i wish to know if once painted do i just apply the decals without first applying a cote of future to avoid silvering or is it unnecessary.then should i find my aluminium paint too brilliant ,which is a good method to tone it down a little.
  19. hi, i am building a Tamiya P47 and painting in Natural metal most probably aluminium. The instructions says all the undercarriage including the wheels is the same color. This obviously was not so.what were the correct colors for the wheels, shocks and undercarriage structure.
