  1. Agreed there, but isn't it the same with Hasegawa and their weapons..... Anyway, followup question: does anyone know the difference between the two cockpit color PE sets available? When I look at them, it seems the parts are all the same except for one: in the D/D1 set (4817), the two parts 9 and 10 (instr. panel) are connected, while on the other set (4817) they are separate. The panels are different too, but both say they're for the JA37... http://www.umpretail.com/collections/tarangus/products/saab-37-viggen-d-di-colour-cockpit-detail-set-tar
  2. Ah, forget those Rb04 then. Maybe then 6 AMRAAMS
  3. I was planning on a version with a nice weapons load: 2 Rb40 missiles and 4 AMRAAMs. I suppose I ned the Tarangus fighter version for that? And does that come with the oerlikon cannon?
  4. There's two out now: the Tarangus and the Special Hobby. My LHS says in their description of the SH boxing, it's the SH version of the tarangus kit. They are priced exactly the same too. So is their any difference between the two boxings, or is it literally just another decal sheet with other options?
  5. Well, not all of it. I'm starting on the KittyHawk 1/48th Mirage F.1B, but the boxing is a showbird. As in, it tells you that you can fit 2 missiles and a fuel tank and that's it. I wanna give mine a full weapons loadout, and I've concluded from what I've been reading that the F.1C actually has that. Now I have all the parts in my kit, but not a clue where to put them and what is what. Is anyone able to send me a scan of the part of the instructions of the F.1C that deals with the ordnance? Tx! Patrick

Not worried about tbhose, already got a set from Eduard :) Main concern atm is if I wanna light it or not, and how to get the wings removable and movable :)

I've made up my mind - this beast is next. After I figure out how to fit it on my workbench. It's gonna be an exercise in patience and scratchbuilding (new territory) as I've been inspired by some of the stuff seen here. However, with the planning stages I'm also pondering the idea of lighting it up. Anyone have info on what lights go where?
  8. And thus ended another friendship I suppose. Not sure about US law3s in matters like that but if the "friend" tried to pull this stunt in a courtroom over here she'd be laughed out of court bu the judge so hard he'd be crying. As for the models: ouch. It's why I keep my cats far from my modeling room too and have very few models on display outside that room. Cats and models don't mix well either.
  9. Tx I had to go with email tho, when I tried PM I got an error The member Flankerman cannot receive any new messages
  10. This is gonna be my next big build. Any chance of a heads up on some of the problems with the kit?
  11. That's why I want it with that many :) And indeed, that does appear to be the one we're talking about - only the painting guide says it's all FS36118 Grey. If that's not accurate anyway, time to fire up the Sparrows :)
  12. I'm building an F-15E Strike Eagle in 1/72nd scale. That means one thing: loads and loads of ordnance. Unfortunately it's a Hasegawa kit, so while they do provide no less than 22 MK20 Rockeye bombs, they're seriously lacking the 4 Sidewinders and Sparrows. Good thing I had a Weapons Set IV handy. But anyway, so much ordnance brings an additional problem: what to pick. There's three places to hang stuff: * underwing pylons: optionally 4 Rockeye, or one fuel tank. Both options allow for 4 sidewinders. This isn't a choice, it's gonna be the bombs * centerline pylon: optionally 6 Rockeye, or on
  13. Magnificent work again! I'm just wondering - isn't the caniopy framing a little wide?
  14. No rattlecan, AB wasn't entirely agreeing with me I guess...
  15. The final steps have been taken, it is after all a simple smallish kit. The bloopper got sanded off, the thing got a few coats of Future, en then the decals went on. Even the teensy weensy letters are perfectly readable... Photo's show plenty of room for improvement on the next kit. Yay for the learning curve :)
