I remember my 1st day - 1st flight late in November of 1988; class 90-01 at Reese AFB TX like it was yesterday. I was standing by one of my class mates at the SOF desk waiting for our jet assignments. We were fresh out of Phase 1 T-37 systems class and this never came up but he asked anyway,... He asked for the "Keys to the jet" The SOF was a Lt Col, (God bless him he did not miss a beat) reached into the desk and pulled out a set of keys and said "hear you go son".
