Mike, I'm in for a VMFA-323 sheet. I can finally complete my West Coast Hornet builds.

The 225 scheme is alittle newer its a black and white scheme, unlike the two year old one which is black and blue. The speed brake has a playing card, ace of spades (I think) with an Eagle, Globe, and Anchor in the center of it. Its actually brown and yellow (gold). Fight On! GO SC!

the #200 modex is because VMFA-323 is a boat squadron like VMFA-232. I think they are leaving soon or have already left.

Saw this yesterday at the Miramar Air Show. Finally a Hi-Viz bird from VMFA-323. Was only able to get a picture with a camera phone, but will be going back on Sunday to take more pics with my digi cam. Also, VMFA-225 had a newer Hi-Viz bird as well. I'll take pics of that also. If any one went to the Show and has pics of these birds please feel free to post them here. Hopefully, we can get some decals made for them from one of the decal companies here. The pic...

I'm in the process of making 3 What-Ifs: F-14A as a VMF-122 Crusaders, This squadron went into Cadre status for the Tomcat in 1974. F/A-18E as a VMFA-134 Smoke, This squadron is in Cadre status for the arrival of the F-35 Ligthing II. F/A-18F as a VMFA(AW)-332 Moonlighters, This squadron is also in Cadre status for the arrival of the F-35 Lighting II.

Correct, sometimes they look gun metal, also.
